    • X-rays come back clean
X-rays came back negative on Moreno's thumb following Friday's game against the Phillies, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Moreno hurt his thumb on a slide early in Friday's contest but remained in the game long enough to tally his third homer of the season. He was ultimately pulled in the sixth inning. Manager Torey Lovullo noted after the contest that Moreno is likely to avoid the injured list but would have to see how he is feeling Saturday before any final determination is made. • X-Rays return negative for Gabriel Moreno (thumb)
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters after Friday’s game that X-rays came back negative for any structural damage on the injured thumb of catcher Gabriel Moreno.

Advice: Lovullo is hopeful that Moreno will be able to avoid a stint on the injured list but noted that he’ll have to wait and see how he’s feeling on Saturday morning to make a full determination. In the meantime, expect Tucker Barnhart to draw a start behind the plate on Saturday. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

    • Trea Turner hits first home run off IL
Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner has hit safely in all three games since returning from his hamstring injury yet this home run was his first extra-base hit. He smacked it 110.6 MPH off the bat, two MPH harder than he’s hit a ball all season. That’s a welcome sight because his power lagged before the injury with just three home runs in April before going down. Rotoworld 37 minutes ago

    • Homers, drives in three in loss
Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner hit a two-run home run off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning then added an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Turner has gone 5-for-14 since returning from the injured list with a hamstring injury, and the homer was his first since April 17. He has been excellent when healthy this season, slashing .344/.389/.470 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 29 runs scored and 10 steals over 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homers in loss
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Friday in a loss to the Guardians

Advice: This Blue Jays offense is a disaster. Guerrero’s solo shot was their only glimmer of offense before they loaded the bases in the ninth inning. The home run was Guerrero’s eighth, a very disappointing number as we near the midway point of the season. Rotoworld Today, 6:50 pm
    • Gabriel Moreno diagnosed with sprained left thumb
The Diamondbacks announced that Gabriel Moreno was removed from Friday’s game due to a sprained left thumb.

Advice: The severity of the sprain — and how much time (if any) that Moreno may miss — remain up in the air. Tucker Barnhart replaced him in Friday’s contest against the Phillies and would be in line for increased run behind the plate if Moreno is forced to miss any substantial time. • Leaves game with sprained thumb
Moreno exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to a sprained left thumb.

Advice: Tucker Barnhart replaced Moreno behind home plate for the bottom of the sixth inning. Before exiting, Moreno went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in the top of the third inning. Clarity on the severity of Moreno's injury will be known following Friday's contest. Rotowire.com Today, 6:04 pm

    • Gabriel Moreno exits Friday with apparent injury
Gabriel Moreno was removed from Friday’s game against the Phillies due to an apparent injury.

Advice: No word yet on exactly what happened here, but the 24-year-old backstop was replaced by Tucker Barnhart when the Diamondbacks took the field in the sixth inning. Earlier in the game, Moreno crushed the hardest hit ball of his career — a titanic 433-foot (104.6 mph EV) blast to center field. Stay tuned, as the Diamondbacks should have an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Today, 6:00 pm

    • Jeremy Peña getting breather against Orioles
Jeremy Peña is absent from the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Orioles.

Advice: The 26-year-old shortstop has been a mainstay in the Astros’ lineup this season, so it’s rare to see him getting a night off. Mauricio Dubon will start in his place and will bat seventh for the Astros against Orioles’ right-hander Grayson Rodriguez on Friday evening. Rotoworld Today, 1:21 pm
