    • Generates another quality start
Kirby didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Kirby posted a sixth straight quality start and left the contest having allowed just one run. However, he left a pair of runners on the basepaths, both of which came in to score on a George Springer home run to finalize Kirby's earned run total at three. Kirby is tied for the 10th most quality starts in baseball and ranks top-10 in innings pitched with 111.2. He owns a 3.39 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP along with an outstanding 109:11 K:BB on the year. He's scheduled to face the Angels next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 12:51 am

    • Breaks homer drought
Garcia went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run during Sunday's 10-1 win over Colorado.

Advice: Garcia hit leadoff in each of his previous 11 starts but was bumped down to eighth in the batting order Sunday. Despite the change, Garcia still was productive, hitting his first home run since May 17 with a three-run blast off Tanner Gordon in the first inning. On the year, Garcia is slashing .230/.283/.347 with six home runs and a 15.8 percent K rate. Rotowire.com Today, 12:45 am

    • Turns in quality start
Cannon allowed a run on three hits and four walks over six innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out three in the loss against Miami.

Advice: Cannon kept the Marlins off the board until the fourth inning when he coughed up an RBI double to Vidal Brujan. Cannon hadn't walked more than two batters in any MLB appearance this season prior to Sunday's outing. He issued only three free passes over his previous 25.1 frames. Despite the shaky command, he bounced back after giving up 11 runs (eight earned) over his previous two starts. Cannon lowered his ERA to 4.20 with a 35:11 K:BB through 45 innings. He's currently lined up for a home start against the Pirates next weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:16 pm
    • Blasts home run, swipes bag
Contreras went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Contreras had a monster game against the Nationals, contributing in all facets and extended a hitting streak to six games in Sunday's win. He clubbed his ninth home run of the season and his third in his last six games. The veteran had his first three RBI game of the season and picked up his third stolen base in the process. He's been playing well since returning from the IL and is hitting .299/.399/.529 for the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:12 pm
    • George Kirby posts quality start in no-decision
George Kirby logged a quality start in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon, giving up three runs on seven hits over his six-plus frames.

Advice: The right-hander racked up eight strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Jays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alejandro Kirk. Kirby then allowed a pair of singles to start the seventh inning before turning the ball over to the bullpen — and both runs ultimately scored. The 26-year-old hurler got 16 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his heater — while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to finish his first half strong as he brings a 3.39 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 109/11 K/BB ratio (111 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Angels in Los Angeles. • Maikel Garcia delivers three-run homer in rout
After being dropped to the eighth spot in the order, Maikel Garcia went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk against the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Garcia’s last stint of being dropped from the leadoff spot lasted two games, so we’ll see if this one is any longer. He’s been quite a disappointment for the Royals this season, though not really for fantasy purposes with his 21 steals, 52 runs scored and 40 RBI. It’s big for his fantasy value that he lead off, though, and since the Royals aren’t moving Bobby Witt Jr. or Vinnie Pasquantino up to that spot, Garcia probably remains the team’s best option. Adam Frazier got the nod there today and went 0-for-4. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:46 pm

    • Cannon solid in no-decision
Jonathan Cannon allowed one run on three hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Cannon walked four and struck out three on the day while allowing just one extra-base hit. The 23-year-old didn’t miss many bats on the day with just six whiffs on 33 swings for an 18 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. He’ll have to hope that’s enough to keep him in the rotation when Mike Clevinger comes back. As of now, Cannon lines up for a strong start against the Pirates next week. He has a 4.20 ERA on the year and has only had one bad performance; it just happened to be one that torpedoed his ratios. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:01 pm
    • Willson Contreras smacks another home run in win
Willson Contreras went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in the Cardinals’ 8-3 win over the Nationals on Sunday.

Advice: Contreras has picked up right where he left off since returning from the IL. His home run was scorched at 108.9 MPH and even his single was sizzled at 105.4 MPH. Few players, let alone catchers, hit the ball as hard and as consistently as Contreras. He’s on pace to put together a huge second half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:49 pm
    • Jesse Winker doubles twice in loss
Jesse Winker went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI on Sunday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Winker continues to mash. His two doubles took his season total to 17 and he has six in his last 23 plate appearances. It was bizarre to watch his downturn over the past few seasons but he seems back to being the patient, all-fields hitter he was when he was at his best. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:48 pm
