    • Sitting out Thursday
Raleigh is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Yankees.

Advice: Raleigh started the first three games of the series against the Yankees and homered in Wednesday's contest, but he'll get a breather for Thursday's afternoon tilt. Seby Zavala will do the catching for Luis Castillo. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

    • Idle against southpaw
Marsh is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Marsh will bow out of the starting nine for the series finale as the Phillies face off against a lefty (Andrew Heaney) in a day game after a night game. Whit Merrifield will step in for Marsh in left field and will bat eighth. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Slugs 11th homer
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Raleigh leads all major-league catchers with 11 homers this season, though he hadn't hit one out since May 11. This was his only hit over 10 at-bats across the last three games after a stretch in which he went 9-for-30 in an eight-game span. Raleigh is up to a .219/.299/.458 slash line with 28 RBI, 24 runs scored, four doubles and no stolen bases over 174 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm

    • Loses control in fourth
Snell didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks across 3.1 innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Snell looked sharp to begin his first start after a month-long IL stint, keeping the Pirates scoreless after three frames. However, the 31-year-old crumbled in the fourth inning, yielding two walks, a hit-by-pitch and an infield single to let a run score and leave the bases loaded with one out for Sean Hjelle. Hjelle gave up a grand slam to the first batter he faced and pushed Snell's earned run total to four. Snell hasn't completed five innings in a start this season and is 0-3 with an 11.40 ERA through 15.0 innings. He's projected for a home start against the Phillies on Monday. • Cal Raleigh tags three-run homer in loss
Cal Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run on Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Advice: The Orioles offense was quiet all night besides Raleigh’s blast. He golfed a changeup from Luke Weaver, which has been one of the best individual pitches in baseball this season, just barely over the right-field fence for his 11th long ball of the season. It would’ve been a homer in fewer than half of the league’s stadiums, but this was the only one that mattered. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:12 pm

    • Blake Snell gives up four runs in loss to Pirates
Blake Snell had mixed results in his return from the injured list on Wednesday, giving up four runs on four hits over 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, Snell piled up five strikeouts on the evening, but he also issued four free passes. He kept the Pirates’ offense off the board through the first three frames but ran into serious trouble in the fourth. There, he loaded the bases on a pair of walks and an infield single, then plunked Andrew McCutchen to force in a run. He then turned the ball over to the bullpen — who immediately gave up a grand slam to allow all three inherited runners to score. Snell got an impressive 15 swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night — nine on his heater — while posting a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll look to improve upon a cringe-inducing 11.40 ERA and 2.07 WHIP when he does battle against the Phillies on Monday in San Francisco. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm

    • Evan Phillips to throw live bullpen on Thursday
Evan Phillips (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a live bullpen session on Thursday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Advice: If all goes well with that session, he’ll begin a minor league rehab assignment there on Sunday. Phillips should only need a couple of tune-ups there before he’s ready to rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen and return to his closer’s role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:06 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr. plates two in victory over Tigers
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI on Wednesday, leading the Royals to an 8-3 victory over the Tigers.

Advice: Witt did his damage in the late stages of the contest, tacking on a pair of insurance runs with a two-run double in the seventh inning. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar is on fire at the moment, batting .370 (10-for-27) with two homers and one steal over his last seven games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:39 pm
    • Activated for Wednesday start
The Giants activated Snell (adductor) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Advice: Snell will rejoin the rotation Wednesday after completing his recovery from a Grade 2 adductor strain. The left-hander posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three starts with the Giants this season but looked sharp during two rehab outings, not allowing a hit or a run while collecting a 17:1 K:BB in nine innings. He threw just 60 pitches in his most recent rehab outing Friday, so Snell's workload could be relatively limited Wednesday. According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, Snell could go on paternity leave after Wednesday's outing, but in such a scenario, he should be back in time to make his next start.
