    • Follow-up MRI returns clean
Rodriguez's (shoulder) MRI came back clean Saturday, and he's expected to throw a bullpen session soon, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Saturday's follow-up MRI confirmed that Rodriguez's shoulder has fully healed and marked the southpaw's final checkpoint to clear before beginning mound work. The 31-year-old hasn't pitched in 2024 and will require a lengthy ramp-up period that includes a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list. Still, Rodriguez could be back in late July or early August. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
    • Eduardo Rodriguez to ramp up throwing progression
Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) will ramp up his throwing progression after receiving good news from his follow-up MRI on Saturday.

Advice: The 31-year-old hurler has yet to debut for the Diamondbacks due to a lat injury that has shelved him since spring training. He’ll resume throwing off of flat ground once again and stretch out from there. He’s still a long way away from potentially joining the Diamondbacks’ rotation — especially with all of the setbacks that he has experienced thus far. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago
    • Spencer Steer homers and walks in defeat
Spencer Steer homered and walked in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Steer swatted a solo shot in the ninth inning, which is good, but it came with the Reds down 5-2, which is bad for Cincinnati and unimportant for fantasy managers. He’s really swung the bat well as of late while vastly improving his still slightly-underwhelming slash of .243/.336/.435. The 13 homers and 13 steals sure have helped, however. • Harrison allows four runs in loss Saturday
Kyle Harrison allowed four runs in 3 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Harrison gave up four hits, walked four and struck out two. Harrison allowed three runs in the first inning on an RBI groundout, a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. In the second inning, Steven Kwan got him for a solo home run. His ERA is up tot 4.24 on the season and the lack of strikeouts make him difficult to trust in fantasy. The 22-year-old left-hander is set to face the Twins at home next weekend.

    • Giants activate Kyle Harrison for Saturday start
Giants activated LHP Kyle Harrison from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Harrison draws the starting assignment for Saturday’s showdown against the Guardians following a nearly three-week absence due to a sprained right ankle. The 22-year-old southpaw has struggled to miss bats this season at the highest level, but still holds a respectable 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 68/22 K/BB ratio across 77 1/3 innings (14 starts). • Activated off IL, starting Saturday
Harrison (ankle) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Saturday against the Guardians, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Harrison landed on the injured list June 16 with a right ankle sprain. He was able to forego a rehab assignment, and he isn't expected to face any restrictions in his return to the Giants' rotation Saturday. Through 14 starts this season, Harrison is 4-3 with a 3.96 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 68:22 K:BB over 77.1 innings. To make room for the 22-year-old southpaw, right-hander Spencer Bivens was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am
    • Goes yard again
Riley went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Aaron Nola let a sinker catch too much of the plate in the fourth inning, and Riley drove it over the wall in center field for Atlanta's first runs of the night. The third baseman has an extra-base hit and at least one RBI in four straight games, and over his last 20 contests he's slashing .362/.438/.797 with six doubles, eight homers, 17 runs and 17 RBI. • Swipes 43rd bag
De La Cruz went 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: It marked the first time since June 16 that the 22-year-old drew multiple free passes, while the stolen base was his league-leading 43rd of the year -- 15 ahead of second-place Brice Turang. De La Cruz can be streaky, but he's red hot right now, slashing .352/.417/.704 over his last 13 games with 10 extra-base hits (four doubles, three triples and three homers), six steals, eight RBI and 13 runs. • Homers in second straight game
Steer went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Steer got the Reds on the board with a fifth-inning solo shot and later singled in a run in the ninth. It was the second straight game with a home run for Steer, who has 12 for the season and leads Cincinnati with 56 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 am
