      According to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, Jasson Domínguez will miss up to eight weeks with an oblique strain.

      Advice: We knew an oblique strain would keep Domínguez out for at least a couple weeks, but this is an extensive period of time and one that could threaten his ability to contribute big-league at-bats this season. If Domínguez doesn’t return to minor league action until late August and then gets a couple of weeks to get his timing back at Triple-A, it would be September even before the Yankees can think about promoting him. If all goes well, he could be a candidate for a mid-September call-up, but the Yankees would then be thrusting him into a major role in the middle of a pennant race after missing a major chunk of time.       Advice: Jones will miss his second straight game with an illness as Sean Bouchard fills in for him in left field and bats second.       Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday that Dominguez will be out for up to eight weeks at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre due to a "significant" left oblique strain, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

      Advice: Boone labeled Dominguez's oblique strain as "moderate" Wednesday, but the injury now appears to be more severe than the Yankees initially believed. The 21-year-old outfielder already missed the first two-plus months of the Triple-A season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and an eight-week return timeline will keep him out of action until at least mid-August.
