      Advice: During his last start, Morton was hammered for 12 hits and eight runs by the Nationals. He did a complete 180 on Sunday, yielding one hit and delivering his first scoreless start since April 27. However, it wasn't a perfect outing, as Morton tied his season high in walks and hit the strike zone on just 58 of his 97 pitches.     • Freddie Freeman homers, swipes bag to lead Dodgers
      Freddie Freeman homered, swiped a base and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, leading the Dodgers to a 4-0 victory over the Rockies.

      Advice: Freeman was the second member of the Dodgers’ lineup to victimize Austin Gomber in the opening inning, clobbering a 396-foot (104.1 mph EV) solo shot just off of the outstretched glove of Brenton Doyle to increase the Dodgers’ early lead to 2-0. The 34-year-old superstar then led off the third inning with a walk, swiped second base and scored on an RBI knock by Miguel Rojas. Freeman also plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. For the season, he’s slashing .293/.399/.477 to go along with seven homers, 35 RBI and just two stolen bases.       Advice: Freeman went yard in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The three walks he drew Sunday matched his total of free passes from his previous 13 games. Freeman's at a 13.4 percent walk rate on the year to go along with an equally impressive 16.0 percent strikeout rate. The first baseman has a .293/.399/.477 slash line with seven homers, 35 RBI, 35 runs scored, two steals, 16 doubles and two triples over 61 contests.       Irvin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings against the Rays. He struck out one.

      Advice: Irvin entered the seventh with a two-run lead having allowed only a single run, but a leadoff homer in the inning by Jose Caballero cut the lead in half, and the hurler was pulled after facing one more batter prior to the lineup turning back over for the Rays. It was Irvin's first quality start since May 3, though he's allowed no more than three earned runs in each of his last nine games and has posted five scoreless outings during that span. Throughout that stretch, he's thrown 47 innings with a 1.72 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 30 strikeouts.       Advice: Irvin didn’t miss bats today and settled for just one strikeout, but he allowed two runs or fewer for the seventh straight start.       Adolis García went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

      Advice: García took a sixth-inning offering from Trevor Rogers and hit it 395 feet at 108.2 mph for his 13th home run on the season. He also added an RBI earlier in the game and now has 40 RBI on the year, which has helped prop up a disappointing .231/.285/.462 slash line. As a free-swinger, García has always seemed at risk for batting average regression, and it’s possible he won’t match last year’s .245 batting average, but the power remains a true asset.       Brown did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over six innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Brown allowed two solo homers, one to lead off the game by Trevor Larnach and a blast in the sixth by Jose Miranda. Those two dingers sandwiched a second inning run-scoring double by Alex Kirilloff to represent the three tallies against Brown. The sixth-inning homer eliminated Brown's chance to pick up his second win, though he did collect his third straight quality start. While Brown's season ERA remains poor at 6.18, he's been much better over his last five starts, accumulating a 3.53 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 31 strikeouts over 28 innings.       Charlie Morton held the Athletics scoreless over six innings on Sunday. He allowed just one hit along with five walks and six strikeouts in a no-decision.

      Advice: Poor command pushed Morton’s pitch count up in what was otherwise a fantastic outing. This was the sixth straight start in which Morton decreased the usage of his fastball and Sunday marked a season-low at 15%. In turn, he turned to more changeups which the Athletics couldn’t square up, but Morton also struggled to find the zone with it at times.
