    • Still out of lineup
Machado (hip) is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Machado sustained a mild right hip flexor strain Wednesday against the Angels, and the 31-year-old will sit again Friday. While he didn't start in the series opener against Arizona on Thursday, Machado did pinch hit for Kyle Higashioka in the eighth inning and grounded out to the pitcher. While Machado begins Friday's game in the dugout, Donovan Solano will start at third base and bat fifth against Diamonbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

    • Senga to throw bullpen next week
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is set to throw a bullpen session early next week, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Advice: The Mets believe the 31-year-old right-hander is trending in the right direction. A bullpen session would represent significant progress, though Senga is still without a clear timetable for returning. He’s been out all season recovering from a shoulder injury. • Mound work coming soon
Senga (shoulder) is expected to throw a bullpen session Monday or Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Senga recently had a setback in his recovery from a right shoulder injury when he experienced some tightness in his triceps. He was shut down for a bit after being given a cortisone injection, but he's almost ready to resume mound work. The expectation is that Senga won't make his season debut until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:31 am
