• IL move made official
The Cubs placed Wick on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain, Taylor McGregor reports.

Advice: Wicks had to be pulled from Friday's start against the Cardinals in the second inning due to the injury. It's not clear what grade the strain is, so it's difficult to project a return date. Typically, though, even low-grade oblique strains result in longer than a minimum stay on the IL. Kyle Hendricks will slide into Wicks' rotation spot. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Back in big leagues
Vespi was called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Advice: Vespi will return to the major-league bullpen after being sent down June 6, replacing Kyle Bradish (elbow) on the Orioles' roster following Bradish's placement on the 15-day injured list Saturday. The left-hander has made two appearances with Baltimore this season, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing two hits. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago

  • Receiving start in right field
Laureano will start in right field and bat ninth in Saturday's game versus the Rays.

Advice: Atlanta will deploy Adam Duvall, Jarred Kelenic and Laureano as its starting outfield in this one and it could be the regular setup for them for a while with Michael Harris (hamstring) joining Ronald Acuna (knee) on the injured list. Laureano had a lowly .494 OPS in 31 games with the Guardians earlier this season before getting released. He seemed to find his footing at Triple-A Gwinnett with a 1.028 OPS and three homers in 14 contests. Rotowire.com 9 minutes ago

  • Moves up to leadoff spot
Kelenic will start in center field and bat leadoff in Saturday's game versus the Rays.

Advice: With Michael Harris (hamstring) joining Ronald Acuna (knee) on the shelf, Atlanta has lost each of its last two leadoff hitters against right-handed pitching. Kelenic will get the next crack at the job, which is quite a promotion given that he hadn't previously batted higher than seventh this season. This is also his first start of the season in center field. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Placed on 15-day IL
Bradish (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right UCL sprain Saturday.

Advice: Bradish pitched five frames in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies in extra innings, leaving the contest with right elbow discomfort, which is now understood to be due to the much-despised UCL. The 27-year-old missed the first month of the season with a UCL sprain, so he's likely set to miss more than the minimum 15 days and could be out until after the All-Star break. Left-hander Nick Vespi was called up from Triple-A Norfolk to replace Bradish on Baltimore's major-league roster in a corresponding move Saturday. Cade Povich appears to be the most likely candidate to replace Bradish in the starting rotation. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Orioles recall Nick Vespi on Saturday
Orioles recalled LHP Nick Vespi from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Vespi gets the call back to the majors with Kyle Bradish heading to the injured list with a UCL sprain in his right elbow. The 28-year-old lefty has made a pair of relief appearances this season for the Orioles. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

  • Kyle Bradish lands on IL with UCL sprain in elbow
Orioles placed RHP Kyle Bradish on the 15-day injured list with a right UCL sprain.

Advice: Not good. Bradish lands on the injured list after being removed from Friday’s start against the Phillies with right elbow discomfort. The primary concern here for fantasy managers is that Bradish missed time earlier this year due to a UCL sprain in his right elbow, which caused him to miss all of spring training and the first month of the season. There should be an update on his status at some point in the near future, but the 27-year-old righty could be facing a lengthy absence. It’s a significant hit to Baltimore’s starting rotation and a massive loss for fantasy managers as well. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Taking seat Saturday
Hurtubise is absent from the lineup for Saturday's game in Milwaukee.

Advice: The left-handed hitter had started the last three contests and each of the past six games versus right-handed pitching. Hurtubise will begin this one on the bench, though, as the Brewers go with a lefty opener and righty bulk reliever. Will Benson is in left field. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago
  • Adds steal Friday
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Gimenez has two steals over his last three games, giving him 11 thefts on the year. The second baseman has struggled at the plate in June, batting .206 (7-for-34) over eight contests, but he continues to see a starting role even after a recent run of the Guardians facing four left-handed starters in a six-game span. For the season, Gimenez is slashing .266/.320/.363 with four home runs, 35 RBI, 35 runs scored, 10 doubles and one triple. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago
