    • Giants finally place Jorge Soler (shoulder) on IL
Giants placed OF Jorge Soler on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 5, with a right shoulder strain.

Advice: The Giants had been taking things day-to-day with their 32-year-old slugger — who has been shelved since last weekend due to soreness in his right shoulder — but on Wednesday they felt it was time to throw in the towel and sit him down rather than playing short-handed any longer. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers in weekly leagues, who may have chanced starting him for that juicy series at Coors Field. Heliot Ramos was recalled in a corresponding move. • Lands on injured list
The Giants placed Soler on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right shoulder strain, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Soler's shoulder has caused him to miss the last three games, and he'll now officially be sidelined for another several days. The move is retroactive to Sunday, so it's possible the 32-year-old slugger is able to return in a week, but the Giants will wait and see how his shoulder heals. Heliot Ramos was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

    • Throws off mound Wednesday
Rodriguez (shoulder) threw 15 pitches off the mound Wednesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: It's the first time Rodriguez has thrown off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with right shoulder inflammation. The hope is that the right-hander will be ready to go when his 15 days are up, but he still has some hurdles to clear in order to make that a reality. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:26 pm

    • Resting against lefty
Lux is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lux will take a seat in the series finale while the Marlins bring southpaw Ryan Weathers to the hill. Miguel Rojas will replace Lux at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 am

    • Belts grand slam
Harper went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, scored twice and drew a walk during Tuesday's 10-1 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger singled and later scored on a Nick Castellanos double to get Philadelphia on the board in the first inning, and his fourth-inning grand slam gave the Phillies a massive 8-0 lead. Harper has now hit a home run in each of his last three contests, recording six total hits and 10 RBI in that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am
    • Three hits Tuesday
Lee went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

Advice: Lee tallied the first three-hit game of his MLB career Tuesday and now leads all rookies with 37 hits on the year, though only five of those have gone for extra bases. Lee is now slashing .264/.314/.329 with two homers, seven RBI, 14 runs and a 10:13 BB:K in 153 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:53 am

    • Connects on first homer of year
Lux went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Lux sent one out off of George Soriano in the third for his first home run since Aug. 15, 2022. Lux has been seeing the ball better as of late despite owning just a .191 batting average. He has eight hits, five RBI and five runs over his last eight games. For the year, he's slashing .191/.258/.247 with seven RBI, 14 runs and an 8:22 BB:K in 97 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:50 am

    • Makes season debut
Friedl started in center field, batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Friedl made his season debut Tuesday after opening the season on the injured list due to a wrist injury. He was unable to change the team's recent fortunes -- the Reds lost their sixth straight and have scored 10 runs during that stretch -- but that's a lot of pressure to put on any player returning from a wrist injury, which can be tricky. He'll return to his everyday role as Cincinnati's leadoff hitter and center fielder. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:26 am

    • Plays hero with ninth-inning homer
Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Adames stepped up to the plate with Gary Sanchez and William Contreras aboard with two outs and the Brewers down 5-3, smacking a laser over the left-field wall for the go-ahead homer. The long ball was Adames' fourth in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's racked up 12 RBI and scored six times. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:24 pm
