    • Perfect at plate in big win
Alvarez went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, three total runs and three total RBI in a 12-2 victory versus the Yankees on Wednesday.

Advice: Alvarez touched up Yankees starter Luis Gil for a two-run homer in the third inning and added a run-scoring double in the fifth. The catcher also singled for his third three-hit performance during his current nine-game hitting streak. Alvarez has been scorching during that stretch, batting .516 (16-for-31) with three home runs, nine RBI and a 7:7 BB:K. His slash line is up to an impressive .313/.383/.521 on the campaign. • Remains hot Wednesday
Mullins went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 4-2 victory versus the Guardians on Wednesday.

Advice: Mullins broke a 2-2 tie in the seventh inning with a solo shot to right field. The outfielder finished with his fifth multi-hit effort over his past seven contests, a span in which he's batting .407 (11-for-27) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs. Mullins was hitting .170 at the end of the day June 8 but has ridden a recent hot streak to bring that mark up to a more respectable .214. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 pm

    • Francisco Álvarez unstoppable in win
Francisco Álvarez went 3-for-3 with a home run, double, walk, three runs scored, and three RBI in the Mets’ 12-2 win over the Yankees.

Advice: It’s very easy to forget that Álvarez is only 22-years-old. It’s even easier to forget he just missed nearly two months with a torn ligament in his left thumb. Since returning, he’s slashing .414/.500/.732 with 3 homers, 11 RBI, seven walks, and eight strikeouts in 14 games. His offensive ceiling is absurd. Rotoworld Today, 8:50 pm
    • Heading to bench Wednesday
Jimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Jimenez experienced a brief scare when he experienced some soreness in his hamstring in his first game back from the injured list in Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Tigers, but he proceeded to serve as the White Sox's designated hitter in both of the first two games of the series with the Dodgers. He went 2-for-9 between the two contests, smacking a double while driving in a run. Jimenez didn't report any setbacks with the hamstring coming out of either game against the Dodgers, so he's likely just getting a planned day off Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 3:53 pm

    • Poor control in loss
Gibson (5-3) allowed four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out four over four innings to take the loss versus Atlanta in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Gibson made his first start since June 14 -- a stint on the bereavement list, a bout of back tightness and a rainout combined to keep him out of game action for 12 days. He wasn't sharp, throwing 50 of 87 pitches for strikes Wednesday, with the five walks being a season high. This was his first loss since April 13 and the first time he's given up more than three runs since May 17. Gibson has a 3.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 77:36 K:BB over 87.2 innings across 15 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Today, 2:54 pm

    • Kyle Gibson walks five in loss to Braves
Kyle Gibson allowed four runs and walked five in four innings Wednesday in a loss to the Braves.

Advice: The control issues are rather unusual for Gibson — this is the first time in two years that he’s walked five in a game — and one wonders if they might have been related to the back issue that cost him his last start. He dropped to 5-3 with a 3.70 ERA. Rotoworld Today, 2:45 pm

    • Nabs fourth steal
McNeil went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: It's the 32-year-old's first multi-hit performance since June 9, with McNeil batting a brutal .088 (3-for-34) in between. The career .291 hitter is slashing just .216/.281/.298 on the season, and his lengthy slump -- as well as a hot start to Jose Iglesias' Mets tenure -- has put McNeil's playing time in a bit of jeopardy. He may need to string together a few more solid efforts to avoid losing his hold on even a strong-side platoon role at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 8:22 am

    • Stays hot Tuesday
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run, a second run scored and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: His two-run shot in the fourth inning was the Mets' fourth home run of the night, with all four coming off Gerrit Cole. Nimmo extended his hitting streak to 10 games with the blast, a stretch in which he's slashing .415/.478/.829 with five of his 12 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:14 am
    • Connor Joe gets start in right versus righty
Connor Joe is in the Pirates lineup Wednesday for the first time in five games.

Advice: Joe was playing regularly against righties last month, but a slump changed that, and since the Pirates have been in a stretch in which they’ve faced righties in 17 of 19 games, he hasn’t had a big role. He currently has a .459 OPS in June after coming in at .853 in April and .737 in May. For the season, he has a .649 OPS against righties and an .825 OPS versus lefties. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 am
