    • Not starting again
McCormick is not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Angels, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: McCormick will be on the bench for a third straight game Friday. He's played in nine games since returning from the injured list May 21, going 2-for-23 with seven strikeouts over that span. Yordan Alvarez will start in left field Friday, while Yainer Diaz will serve as the designated hitter against Angels right hander Griffin Canning. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

    • Taking seat Friday
Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Baltimore, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe will get a day off with lefty Cole Irvin on the mound. Randy Arozarena, Jose Siri and Jonny DeLuca fill the outfield from left to right Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:13 pm

    • Slugs homer Thursday
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 11-7 win over Pittsburgh.

Advice: Freeman helped Los Angeles' offense get off to a fast start with his three-run blast in the first inning. The long ball extended his modest hitting streak to five games, during which he has slashed .389/.455/.889 with two homers, five RBI, five runs and two steals. Freeman has four home runs over his past 15 contests, matching the amount of homers he hit across his initial 49 games of the campaign. Rotowire.com Today, 10:33 am

    • Struggles in abbreviated start
Buehler didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out three.

Advice: After needing 78 pitches to get through three frames, Buehler didn't come out for the fourth, marking the 29-year-old's shortest start of 2024. He surrendered a two-run home run to Nick Gonzales in the third inning, the right-hander's seventh long ball allowed in 28.0 innings. Buehler's been shaky since returning from Tommy John surgery, yielding exactly three runs in five of his six starts this season to fuel a 4.82 ERA. He's lined up for a home start against the Rangers on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 am
    • Freddie Freeman swats three-run homer in win
Freddie Freeman walloped a three-run homer on Thursday in the Dodgers’ win over the Pirates.

Advice: Freeman followed singles by Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani in the opening frame with a no-doubter down the right-field line off Pirates starter Bailey Falter. The 34-year-old first baseman has gone deep twice in his last four contests and is up to eight big flies on the year to go along with a .294 batting average and 38 RBI through 64 games. • Walker Buehler shaky in short outing vs. Pirates
Walker Buehler was charged with four runs (three earned) over three innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Buehler was staked to a four-run lead before taking the mound at PNC Park, but it vanished by the third inning of this one as he was tagged for seven hits, including a two-run homer by Nick Gonzales. It wasn’t completely his fault as the Dodgers committed a pair of errors and weren’t able to make a couple catches on balls that ended up going for hits and drove up his pitch count in the process. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty holds a lackluster 4.82 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 28 innings (six starts). He hasn’t quite returned to fantasy ace status yet, but it’s still early considering how much time he’s missed since undergoing his second Tommy John surgery. He’ll face the Rangers on Wednesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:51 pm
    • Strikes out seven in no-decision
Bibee allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Royals. He struck out seven.

Advice: Bibee allowed just one unearned run through his first five innings, though he'd be charged with two runs in the sixth after allowing the first two batters to reach. Still, it was another decent effort from the 25-year-old right-hander -- Bibee now has seven strikeouts in back-to-back outings while pitching to a 2.12 ERA over his last five starts. Overall, he's 4-1 on the year with a 3.73 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 70 innings. Bibee's currently in line for a road matchup with the Reds in his next outing. • Tanner Bibee fans seven, allows two earned vs. KC
Tanner Bibee allowed three runs — two of them earned — while firing five innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Bibee struck out seven against one free pass, and he allowed six hits. The 25-year-old allowed a run in the first on a double to Vinnie Pasquantino, but he settle down nicely before being charged for a pair in the sixth without recording an out. Bibee has been a slight fantasy disappointment in 2024, but there’s still reason for optimism in both the short and long-term. He’s set to square off with the Reds in Cincinnati on Wednesday. • Swipes bag in loss
Freeman went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run against Pittsburgh in a loss Wednesday.

Advice: Freeman has been much less active on the basepaths this season -- he's attempted just four steals (with three successes) after going 23-for-24 last year. That 2023 performance was likely an aberration, as the 23 thefts were 10 more than his previous career-high mark. Freeman's other numbers are mostly down so far this season as well, but he's still been quite productive with a .294/.397/.476 slash line, seven homers, 17 doubles, 35 RBI and and 36 runs through 63 contests.
