    Advice: This man is a revelation. He drove in the Orioles’ only runs until the seventh inning in this game. His 26 home runs trail only Aaron Judge. He joined Judge, Shohei Ohtani, and Juan Soto as the only players with an OPS over 1.000. He also has 13 stolen bases, 70 runs scored, and 57 RBI while playing elite shortstop defense.   • Jhonkensy Noel homers in first MLB at-bat
    Jhonkensy Noel went 1-for-4 with his first major league home run on Wednesday against the Orioles.

    Advice: What a moment for Noel to send one over the fence in his first at-bat as a big leaguer. He put up 18 homers, a .578 slugging percentage, and had three batted balls over 115 MPH in 65 games at AAA this year, so power is his calling card. Josh Naylor is the Guardians’ every day first baseman, but David Fry has faltered in June and played a good bit of corner outfield and catcher along with being the Guardians’ usual DH.     Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

    Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues.     The Guardians recalled Noel from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. He'll start at first base and bat sixth in the Guardians' series finale in Baltimore.

    Advice: Noel will hit the big leagues for the first time. The 22-year-old slashed .295/.359/.578 with 18 home runs over 65 games with Columbus this season. Much of that production has come since the start of May, with Noel producing a .343/.404/.651 line with 14 home runs in 43 contests over that stretch. Noel has also struck out at just an 18.1-percent rate since May 1, which is a positive development for a player who has often struggled to make contact during his minor-league career. While he can handle first base and the corner outfield spots in a pinch, Noel's best shot at consistent playing time in Cleveland could come at designated hitter.   • Brett Baty hits sixth homer since Triple-A demotion
    Brett Baty hit his sixth homer in 15 games for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

    Advice: Baty is hitting .333/.388/.700 with more homers (six to four), more doubles (four to three) and more RBI (18 to 16) in 15 games for Syracuse than he had in 50 games in the majors. The Mets could have recalled him yesterday in place of Starling Marte, but with Mark Vientos having earned regular playing time, they decided against it. A Pete Alonso or J.D.   • Back in lineup, batting sixth
    Arenado (forearm) will start at third base and bat sixth in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus Atlanta.

    Advice: Arenado had been set to return Tuesday from a left forearm injury before that game was rained out, but he'll remain in the lineup for the makeup game. The sixth spot in the batting order represents the lowest that Arenado has slotted in his four seasons with the Cardinals.     Noel is slashing .402/.471/.705 with nine home runs and a 14.5-percent strikeout rate in his last 30 games for Triple-A Columbus.

    Advice: With Kyle Manzardo failing to take a big-league job and run with it and Noel already being on the 40-man roster, Noel could get a shot as Cleveland's designated hitter sometime this summer. The righty-hitting slugger has huge raw power, and while he has seen 25 starts in the corner outfield spots this season, he's probably too big (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) to get regular starts in the outfield at the highest level.     Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI single and a run during Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Angels.

    Advice: Alvarez was excellent in his first career start, clubbing a double in his first at-bat before being driven in by JJ Bleday and then plating Shea Langeliers on an infield single in the eighth. The 29-year-old Alvarez had his contract selected Saturday, marking his first big-league stint since entering the minors in 2016. With Abraham Toro (hamstring) on the injured list, Alvarez should have some opportunities at third base, though he'll have to compete with Tyler Nevin for playing time at the hot corner.     Advice: Arias has been in the lineup for the last two games since he returned from the family medical emergency list. The utility man provided a two-run double in the second inning and an RBI single in the eighth as one of four Guardians to log multiple hits in the contest.
