• Activated from injured list
The Nationals activated Garcia (illness) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Advice: Garcia was down for a couple weeks with the flu but is ready to roll now after making just one rehab appearance. The 27-year-old has allowed six runs but has struck out 13 over 8.1 relief innings with the Nats this season. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago
  • Slugs second homer
Pham went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Monday against the Rays.

Advice: Pham was the only source of offense for Chicago when he took Tyler Alexander deep for his second home run of the season. Since joining the White Sox on April 26, Pham has regularly hit second in the order and has at least one knock in seven of his 10 games. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
  • Earns win in long relief
Ramirez (2-0) walked one and struck out one across three scoreless innings to earn the win Monday against the White Sox.

Advice: Ramirez followed starter Tyler Alexander into the game in the fifth inning and turned in his second consecutive scoreless appearance. Ramirez has worked primarily in long relief since being recalled to the Rays on April 21, as he's completed at least two frames in four of his six outings. Despite limited strikeout upside -- he has eight punchouts across 11.1 innings of work -- he could be in position to earn more wins than a traditional reliever. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
  • Rays send Pete Fairbanks on rehab assignment
Rays send RHP Pete Fairbanks (nerve issue) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Fairbanks has been sidelined since April 22 after he was placed on the injured list due to a nerve-related condition. He’ll get his first rehab start in Durham since being sidelined and if everything goes to plan, the 30-year-old hurler should be back with Tampa Bay in the next week or so. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago
  • Rays send Brandon Lowe on rehab assignment
Rays sent 2B Brandon Lowe (oblique) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Lowe was placed on the 10-day injured list in mid-April and the team has been careful with him before getting him to a minor league assignment. He’ll likely need to get two or three games under his belt since he’s been out for almost a month, but he’ll be a much-needed addition to the Rays and fantasy managers that have him on rosters. • Dealing with sore wrist
Garcia jammed his wrist Sunday sliding into second base and was replaced by pinch-hitter Ildemaro Vargas in the eighth inning, but he's not expected to miss much time, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Nationals had an off day Monday, so Garcia might not end up missing a start, but it wouldn't be a surprise if manager Dave Martinez gave him an extra day to recover. Garcia has had a breakout season so far, slashing .337/.381/.510 with three homers and six steals in 105 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago
  • Braves place Tyler Matzek (elbow) on 15-day IL
Braves placed LHP Tyler Matzek on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 5, with left elbow inflammation.

Advice: The 33-year-old has struggled this season after coming back from Tommy John surgery that made him miss the entirety of the 2023 season. Matzek has posted a 9.90 ERA, 1.90 WHIP witha 10/3 K/BB ratio across 10 innings this season. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago
  • Braves call up left-hander Ray Kerr
Braves recalled LHP Ray Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Advice: The 29-year-old will join the Braves after the team placed Tyler Matzek on the 15-day injured list with an elbow injury. Kerr posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 35/9 K/BB ratio across his 27 frames with the Padres last season. He’ll add to Atlanta’s bullpen depth while he’s with the team. Rotoworld Today, 6:59 am
  • Mets send Tylor Megill on rehab assignment
Mets sent RHP Tylor Megill (shoulder) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: This will be Megill’s third rehab start since being placed on the injured list at the start of April. The 28-year-old recently pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run on two hits, while striking out four with Double-A Binghamton. “Arm feels good, body feels good – healthy is the most important part. Overall, yeah I felt good,” Megill said after the Double-A rehab start. If he continues to progress, he should be back with the Mets in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Today, 6:54 am
