    • Vlad Jr. has three-hit game in win Sunday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored against the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Guerrero was 1-for-17 (.059) with one walk in his last five games. While the three hits were good to see, his power is still a concern. Guerrero’s .122 ISO is a career-low and with seven home runs so far he’s going to have to pick up the pace to even repeat the 26 home runs he hit last season.

    • On bench for matinee
Gelof is not in the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Advice: Gelof will get an extended breather of sorts, having also sat out Saturday, but he will likely be back in there to face Chris Paddack in the nightcap. After breaking out to the tune of an .841 OPS, 14 homers and 14 steals in just 69 games last season, Gelof has struggled to a .558 OPS, five homers and seven steals through 52 games in 2024. • Sitting Sunday
Murphy is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Murphy will rest for the series finale after he started behind the plate Friday and Saturday while going 2-for-7 with a walk and a run scored. Travis d'Arnaud will garner the start at catcher Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 am

    • Lifts seventh homer
Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Rodriguez has two homers over his last three games and three of his seven long balls this year have come in June. The outfielder is batting .278 (15-for-54) over 14 contests this month, though Saturday was the first game since June 4 in which he didn't strike out. Over 73 games this season, Rodriguez is slashing .267/.317/.361 with 29 RBI, 36 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:16 pm
    • Earns sixth win
Kirby (6-5) allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win Saturday over the Rangers.

Advice: This was Kirby's first time issuing multiple walks since his season debut, as he continues to have some of the best control in the majors. The right-hander has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last four starts after a pair of five-run outings in mid-May. He's now at a 3.54 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 84:9 K:BB over 86.1 innings through 15 starts this year. Kirby is projected to make his next start at Miami in a highly favorable matchup. • J-Rod swats two-run homer in victory over Rangers
Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to help the Mariners to a 7-5 win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: The man they call J-Rod clobbered a cutter that didn’t cut from Nathan Eovaldi into the left-field bleachers to make it 3-0 in the third inning. It’s just the seventh homer of the season for the 23-year-old, but it’s worth noting he’s gone deep in two of the last three games. It’s not a foregone conclusion that Rodríguez shows elite power in the second half of the year, but it seems pretty likely based on his first two seasons. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:05 pm
    • George Kirby allows just unearned run in win
George Kirby didn’t allow an earned run while working six innings to get a win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: He did allow an unearned run, and it’s worth pointing out he was the one who made the error. Kirby walked two, which makes this the first game since March 29 that the right-hander has walked more than one hitter in a game. The right-hander made up for it by striking out six in another strong start for the 26-year-old. Kirby has now allowed just four runs in his last four starts, and his ERA has lowered to 3.54, and his career ERA against Texas is a sparkling 1.08. He’ll get a chance to low it again versus Miami next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:05 pm

    • Sharp in seventh win
Imanaga (7-1) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Cardinals, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The 30-year-old rookie delivered his eighth quality start in his first 13 big-league outings on 103 pitches (69 strikes), with the only run against Imanaga coming after a leadoff double by Alec Burleson in the fourth inning. Imanaga will take a 1.89 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 78:11 K:BB through 76 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Mets. • Making last rehab start
Scherzer (back/arm) is expected to throw 70-75 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, which will be his final rehab start barring a setback, Josh Kirshenbaum of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Saturday's start will be Scherzer's second rehab appearance, following up four scoreless innings Sunday. If all goes well, Scherzer will be ready to return to the active roster and make his 2024 debut after undergoing an offseason back surgery and dealing with thumb and forearm issues throughout his recovery.
