    • Jarren Duran fillets Marlins with homer plus steal
Jarren Duran homered and also stole a base on Tuesday, leading the Red Sox to an 8-3 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Duran walked and stole a base -- his 21st theft of the season -- in the second inning before walloping a gargantuan 433-foot blast to left field -- his 10th round-tripper of the season -- off Marlins reliever JT Chargois in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old speedster has put together arguably the most impressive first-half breakout performance of any player in the fantasy landscape, batting .287/.351/.497 with 43 extra-base hits, including 10 triples and 10 homers, in addition to 21 stolen bases. He’s rapidly evolving into a five-category fantasy superstar and rewarding fantasy managers that have exercised extreme patience over the last few years as he continued to develop at the highest level. • Kutter Crawford fans seven in victory over Marlins
Kutter Crawford struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Tuesday in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Crawford took full advantage of a tasty matchup against the floundering Marlins at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park on Tuesday evening, retiring eight consecutive batters to open the contest, and carried a shutout bid into the fifth inning before serving up a solo homer to Jake Burger, which represented the lone tally against him over six frames. He generated 16 swinging strikes and finished with an astronomical 46 percent CSW. He’ll carry a solid 3.47 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 102/28 K/BB ratio across 98 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a challenging road tilt on Sunday against the Yankees in primetime. Get your popcorn ready. • Jordan Montgomery hits IL with knee inflammation
Diamondbacks placed LHP Jordan Montgomery on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 29, with right knee inflammation.

Advice: Arizona had to come up with something here since Montgomery badly needs to press the reset button on the metaphorical console. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters that injury occurred during a bullpen session over the weekend and he doesn’t expect it to be an extended absence. The 31-year-old southpaw’s Arizona debut has gone about as poorly as one could imagine with a bloated 6.44 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 45/23 K/BB ratio across 65 2/3 innings (13 starts). The hope here for fantasy managers is that some time out of the spotlight to work on things is able to help him get back on track. Rotoworld Today, 3:34 pm

    • Lands on injured list
The Diamondbacks placed Montgomery on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to June 29, due to right knee inflammation.

Advice: Montgomery was tagged for eight runs (four earned) during his start Thursday against the Twins, though it's unclear if the injury played a role in those results. The veteran left-hander will be eligible to be reinstated for the final game before the All-Star break July 14 versus the Blue Jays, but a return after the midseason festivities is likely more realistic. • Absent from lineup
Hoskins isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Advice: After recording a base hit in 10 of his last 11 games, Hoskins was held to 0-for-4 with a sacrifice fly during Monday's loss in the series opener. He'll now sit against Ryan Feltner and the Rockies on Tuesday, putting Jake Bauers at first base while Christian Yelich serves as the Brewers' DH, opening a spot in left field for Jackson Chourio. • Kyle Harrison (ankle) throwing bullpen on Tuesday
Kyle Harrison (ankle) will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Harrison isn’t expected to require a minor league rehab assignment before returning to San Francisco’s starting rotation mix after suffering a right ankle sprain back in mid-June. It sounds like he could be back prior to the All-Star break, but that isn’t a lock. Rotoworld Today, 2:12 pm

    • Swipes ninth bag
Springer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to six games while pilfering his ninth bag of the year in nine attempts. Springer is batting .550 (11-for-20) with two doubles, three homers, four runs and 10 RBI during his heater, but he still has a long way to go climb out of his early-season hole -- his .641 OPS is well below his .824 career mark. • Gallen’s start moved up to face Dodgers
The Diamondbacks are moving up Zac Gallen’s next start to Thursday against the Dodgers.

Advice: The Arizona Diamondbacks want to get Gallen pitching on every fifth day until the All-Star break, which means he will now face the Dodgers instead of the Padres on Friday as was originally planned. Instead, Slade Cecconi will be moved back to take that start. It’s obviously not great news for fantasy leagues, but the Dodgers have some injuries in their lineup, and Gallen is talented enough that you’re probably starting him regardless of opponent. • Posts quality start Sunday
Pfaadt allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings Sunday against the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Pfaadt carried a shutout into the fifth inning before serving up a solo home run to Zack Gelof to tie the game at 1-1. That was the lone mark against him, though it was enough to cost him a chance at the win after the Diamondbacks didn't take the lead back until the bottom of the seventh. Sunday was the third time in June Pfaadt punched out eight batters, but it came on the heels of consecutive starts in which he combined for just two strikeouts in 12.2 innings. Length has been a strength for Pfaadt, as he's gone at least six innings in 13 of his last 15 starts. The 25-year-old owns a 4.28 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 94:26 K:BB in 103 innings and lines up for his next start against division-rival Padres over the weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 am
