    • Kyle Finnegan tagged for five runs in loss
Kyle Finnegan took his fifth loss after giving up five runs in the ninth Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Yikes. But, hey, it wasn’t a blown save since he entered with a four-run lead. Finnegan, who is very much available in trade talks, saw his ERA jump from 2.47 to 3.48 tonight. He gave up five hits, including two homers, to the six batters he faced. With peripherals considerably worse than his ERA, he might not net the kind of return the Nationals were hoping for at the deadline. On the plus side, this might make him a better bet for fantasy purposes, since there’s a good chance he’d be a setup man if he is sent to a contender. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:48 pm
    • Nabs steal in return
Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 5-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Reynolds missed four games while on the bereavement list. He was dealing with a minor back injury prior to that. The outfielder's steal was his sixth of the campaign and his first since June 4. Reynolds has added a .288/.354/.483 slash line, 18 home runs, 61 RBI, 49 runs scored, 20 doubles and three triples through 102 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:47 pm

    • Stays warm Monday
Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 8-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Hoskins has tapped into his power with three homers over his last four games and seven long balls over 20 contests in July. The first baseman is at 18 homers on the year, but he's bounced back nicely after lacking in power in June. For the season, he's slashing .219/.309/.442 with 55 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases and nine doubles over 327 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm

    • Picks up 23rd steal
Duran went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, a steal and two runs scored in Monday's 14-7 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Duran recorded his first stolen base since the All-Star break, and his 23rd steal ties him for ninth most in MLB this season. The 2024 All-Star has picked up right where he left off in the first half, hitting. 356 in 10 games since the break. Duran has nine multi-hit games in his last 15 games and has seen his slash line climb to .291/.350/.508 for the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Grand in win over White Sox
Witt went 4-for-5 with a grand slam, a double and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-5 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: The Kansas City shortstop slugged a pivotal grand slam off reliever John Brebbia in the eighth inning to give the Royals an 8-5 they wouldn't give up. Along with his monstrous homer, Witt also collected his second four-hit performance of the season to raise his AL-leading batting average to .347. The 24-year-old superstar has had a monumental month of July so far, hitting .488 (41-for-84) with seven homers, 22 runs scored and 21 RBI, as he enters the AL MVP discussion. • Braves bring back Soler, Jackson in trade
Braves acquired OF Jorge Soler and RHP Luke Jackson from the Giants for LHP Tyler Matzek and 3B Sabin Ceballos.

Advice: Marcell Ozuna is locked in at DH, so this is a bet than Soler, who hasn’t played a single game in the field this year, can still cut it in left. Maybe that will work out, but it is pretty scary that he’s owed $26 million between 2025 and 2026. On the plus side, the Braves didn’t have to give up much in return for a legit bat. Jarred Kelenic figures to move to right field now and platoon with Adam Duvall. Eddie Rosario could lose his roster spot. The Giants can mix and match at DH, and maybe Wade Meckler will earn a shot in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm

    • Goes deep in loss
Raleigh went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Monday's 14-7 loss against the Red Sox.

Advice: Raleigh went back-to-back with Randy Arozarena in the sixth inning and extended a hitting streak to five games, which ties his longest this season. Raleigh launched his 23rd homer, which leads all MLB catchers in the current campaign. The 27-year-old has been hot in the month of July with nine home runs in 22 games. Raleigh has also racked up eight multi-hit games in July, the same amount he had in his previous 80 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:54 pm

    • Returning to Atlanta
Soler was traded to Atlanta on Monday night, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Soler will head back to Atlanta, where he was a part of the team's stretch run and ultimate World Series title in 2021 after being acquired at the trade deadline from Kansas City. The 32-year-old has produced a .240 batting average with 12 home runs, 40 RBI, 57 runs scored and one stolen base over 341 at-bats in 93 games with the Giants this season. Soler has also been red-hot as of late, going 11-for-18 with a homer, five RBI and eight runs scored over his last five games. He's operated primarily as a designated hitter in 2024, but with Marcell Ozuna holding down that role in Atlanta, it's possible that Soler is asked to play some more in the outfield with his new club. • Report: Braves acquiring Jorge Soler from Giants
The Braves are set to acquire Jorge Soler from the Giants, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Advice: Luke Jackson is also expected to return to the Braves. This is a stunner, largely because Soler hasn’t played a game in the outfield this year and the Braves already have Marcell Ozuna locked in at DH. It did seem likely that the Braves would acquire an outfielder, and they’re apparently convinced Soler will be playable in left. It’ll be Soler’s second stint with the Braves after he came up huge for the team as a trade deadline acquisition three years ago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:34 pm
