    • Knocks in three runs Monday
Soto went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and three RBI in Monday's 14-4 thrashing of Philadelphia.

Advice: Though Soto didn't get in on the six homers New York racked up in the victory, he collected the team's only two doubles and was one of three Yankees with three RBI. The slugger has at least three hits on 11 occasions this season and has knocked in at least three runs 12 times. Soto has tallied 10 multi-hit performances over his past 15 games and is slashing .406/.479/.859 with six home runs, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base over that span. • Launches homers No. 38 and 39
Judge went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in a 14-4 rout of the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Judge got the scoring started with a solo homer in the first inning and added a two-run shot in the seventh. The slugger has gone deep four times in his past four games, raising his season total to a league-high 39 long balls. Judge has driven in 10 runs over the four-game span and is up to 99 RBI on the season, 14 more than the batter (Jose Ramirez) with the next-highest total. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:55 pm

    • Aaron Judge launches two homers to sink Phillies
Aaron Judge went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBI on Monday, powering the Yankees to a 14-4 victory over the Phillies.

Advice: Judge predictably was at the epicenter of New York’s offensive explosion on an 86-degree evening with the wind blowing out at hitter-friendly Citizens Bank Park as he delivered his fourth multi-homer performance of the season as the Yankees connected for a whopping six round-trippers in a one-sided affair. The 32-year-old generational talent, who blasted a first-inning solo shot off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before taking reliever Yunior Marte deep for a two-run blast a couple innings later, leads the majors with 39 big flies this season and has gone deep five times in 10 contests since the All-Star break. • Brewers lose Trevor Megill to lower back strain
Brewers placed RHP Trevor Megill on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 26, with a lower back strain.

Advice: Megill hadn’t pitched since Tuesday, though the Brewers didn’t let it be known that his back was a problem. This could mean Joel Payamps will get save chances when Devin Williams is unavailable. Williams, who just came off the IL on Sunday, isn’t expected to pitch on back-to-back days for a little while. • Cody Bellinger makes return from broken finger
Cubs activated 1B/OF Cody Bellinger from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: So, not this week, but today in fact. Bellinger is not in the starting lineup for tonight’s game, however. He is just 19 days removed from suffering a fractured finger and can’t throw yet, but he’ll probably be in the lineup as a DH tomorrow. The Cubs don’t need to make a countermove here, since Isaac Paredes has yet to report in Christopher Morel’s spot. That’ll probably happen tomorrow, but the Cubs will likely trade another hitter by then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:49 pm

    • Activated from injured list
The Cubs activated Bellinger (finger) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Manager Craig Counsell had indicated Bellinger was likely to be activated in the coming days, but the 29-year-old came out of a lengthy hitting session so well Monday that the team opted to immediately add him back to the roster. Bellinger isn't included in Monday's lineup against the Reds, but he'll be available off the bench. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:23 pm

    • MRI negative on Reynaldo López’s forearm
The Braves will not immediately put Reynaldo López on the injured list after an MRI on his tight forearm revealed no structural damage.

Advice: There’s probably a case for IL-ing him anyway, given that his workload is way up from his recent seasons as a reliever and he wasn’t very effective in his two starts prior to leaving Sunday’s game. The Braves, though, really need him in the rotation with Max Fried down. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:22 pm

    • MRI comes back negative
Lopez is considered day-to-day after an MRI on his right forearm came back negative, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Lopez exited Sunday's start versus the Mets with right forearm tightness, but Atlanta is hopeful that it will not need to place him on the 15-day injured list and it hasn't even ruled out the right-hander making his next scheduled start this weekend against the Marlins. It's some much-needed good news for a team that's dealt with more than its share of bad news lately. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:17 pm

    • Return considered imminent
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that he expects Bellinger (finger) to be activated from the 10-day injured list within the next few days, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Bellinger went through a long hitting program Monday and did some additional hitting during batting practice before the team's game in Cincinnati. That he's on the road trip would suggest Bellinger has a chance to return before the Cubs' series with the Reds ends Wednesday, although it's possible they'll wait for the start of a homestand Thursday. Bellinger has been shelved since mid-July with a fractured left middle finger. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm
