    • Gausman allows one earned run in win over ChiSox
Kevin Gausman allowed one earned and four hits over six innings while earning the win on Tuesday against the White Sox.

Advice: Gausman didn’t face much resistance in this one, as the Blue Jays grabbed an early 3-0 lead in the second, which more or less put Gausman in cruise control against one of the league’s worst offenses. Gausman earned a win in three of his five stars this month, and will have a chance to start June off on a strong note when he makes his next scheduled start on Monday against the Orioles. • Mike Trout (knee) starts running on treadmill
Mike Trout (knee) has progressed to running on a treadmill.

Advice: Trout underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and remains without a definitive timetable to return to Los Angeles. He’s expected to resume baseball activities at some point in June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:58 pm

    • Royce Lewis (quad) plays 3B on Tuesday at AAA
Royce Lewis (quad) played seven innings at third base on Tuesday for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Lewis went 0-for-3 at the dish and made his first appearance in the field since kicking off a minor league rehab assignment last week. The 24-year-old third baseman will presumably require at least a handful of additional tune-up contests to get back up to speed before returning to Minnesota. This was certainly a step in the right direction as he works his way back from a severe quad strain that sent him to the injured list back on Opening Day. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:26 pm

    • Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) might return next week
Rhys Hoskins (hamstring) has progressed to on-field running.

Advice: Hoskins is making steady progress from a right hamstring strain and could be ready to return to Milwaukee’s lineup next Monday when they open up a series against the Phillies. The 31-year-old was expected to miss 2-4 weeks after landing on the shelf back in mid-May. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:43 pm

    • Could return next week
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Tuesday that Hoskins (hamstring) ran on the field and is progressing in his running program, and it's possible the first baseman returns from the injured list early next week in Philadelphia, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The 31-year-old landed on the shelf May 14 with a strained right hamstring, and he's now ramping up his rehab work after a brief shutdown period. A return for the Phillies series is likely an enticing target for Hoskins, considering he'd spent his entire MLB career in Philadelphia before signing with the Brewers in January. • Snaps losing streak Monday
Miller (4-5) earned the win over Houston on Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: Miller came into the contest having lost three consecutive outings, during which he posted a 5.71 ERA. The right-hander bounced back with his sixth quality start of the season and his sixth outing with at least six strikeouts. Miller has posted a 3.48 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 62:18 K:BB through 64.2 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:28 pm

    • Bryce Miller strong for six to take down Astros
Bryce Miller pitched six innings of two-run ball for the win as the Mariners edged the Astros 3-2 on Monday.

Advice: Seattle got three in the bottom of the first and Houston scored twice in the fifth to account for all of the scoring. Miller was actually perfect through four before giving up four hits in the fifth and one more in the sixth. He struck out six. Miller had lost his last four decisions, including the last three starts in a row. He’s now 4-5 with a 3.48 ERA through 11 turns. Rotoworld Monday, 9:31 pm

    • Expected to hit on field Monday
Hoskins (hamstring) plans to advance to hitting on the field Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Hoskins will clear a significant hurdle in his recovery from a right hamstring strain, as Monday's activity will mark his first time hitting on the field since he landed on the injured list. While there is still no set timetable for his return to action, it sounds like Hoskins isn't too far off from a rehab assignment. "I feel as good as I can," Hoskins said. • Sharp outing against Yankees
Musgrove did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Yankees, allowing one run on six hits and no walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Musgrove blanked the Yankees through five before Juan Soto finally opened up the scoring with a one-out RBI double in the sixth that prompted Musgrove's exit after 87 pitches. Despite remaining winless since April 21, Sunday's start was an encouraging showing and one of Musgrove's best starts in what's been a tough season for him so far. The 31-year-old will carry a 5.66 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB (49.1 innings) into a road start against the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:12 am
