    • Yandy Díaz gets rare day off Thursday vs. Royals
Yandy Díaz is not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: It appears to be a routine off day for Díaz, who is rarely out of Tampa Bay’s lineup. It’ll be Isaac Paredes moving over to cover first base in his absence on the Fourth of July in Kansas City. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Idle Thursday
Diaz isn't in the Rays' lineup Thursday versus the Royals.

Advice: Diaz is getting an off day Thursday after going 1-for-9 in the first two games of the series versus the Royals. This is the first baseman's first absence from the lineup since May 25. Isaac Paredes will shift over from third to first and Jose Caballero will enter the lineup at third in the ninth spot. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

    • Jurickson Profar powers Padres to win over Rangers
Jurickson Profar went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Thursday, sparking the Padres to a 3-1 victory over the Rangers.

Advice: Less than 24 hours after being named to the first All-Star Game roster of his career, Profar came back to haunt his former team with a sixth-inning solo shot off Rangers veteran starter Max Scherzer for his 12th round-tripper of the season. The 31-year-old corner outfielder’s unexpected late-career breakout continues as he’s batting .317 with 50 runs scored, 12 homers, 56 RBI and five steals through 89 games this season. • Michael King shuts down Rangers over 5 1/3 in win
Michael King struck out five and allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Rangers.

Advice: King generated 13 swinging strikes, although just a pair of them came on his four-seam fastball, as he finished with a robust 34 percent CSW. A sixth-inning single from Wyatt Langford was responsible for the lone tally against him in a low-scoring pitcher’s duel at Globe Life Field. The 29-year-old former reliever will bring a strong 3.51 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 120/41 K/BB ratio across 105 innings (19 appearances, 18 starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Mariners in his final outing prior to the Midsummer Classic. • Pivetta takes no hitter into seventh vs. Marlins
Nick Pivetta struck out 10 while allowing just one hit over seven scoreless innings, but he didn’t pick up a decision against the Marlins on Thursday.

Advice: Pivetta took a no-no into the seventh inning, but he gave up his first hit with two outs in that frame on a triple to Jesus Sanchez. It was a dominating effort for the 31-year-old, and nice to see after a run of mediocre starts for the right-hander. It certainly helped that he was facing a well-below-average lineup in Miami, but Pivetta’s stuff would’ve beaten most Thursday. Unfortunately, the bullpen didn’t get the job done. Pivetta gets another favorable matchup on paper next week against the A’s. Rotoworld 56 minutes ago

    • Jonathan India picks up three hits, homer in win
Jonathan India scored three runs while going 3-for-5 with a homer in a victory Thursday over the Yankees.

Advice: India doubled the Reds’ lead to 2-0 with a solo blast in the third inning off an ineffective Marcus Stroman. He also singled twice while improving his average to .278 with a .383 on-base percentage. India has been the subject of trade rumors for seemingly forever, but for now, he’s a solid fantasy option at the top of the Cincinnati lineup. Rotoworld Today, 1:12 pm

    • Spencer Horwitz picks up three hits, two RBI
Spencer Horwitz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in a loss Thursday to the Astros.

Advice: Horwitz singled in the first inning to score two runs off Framber Valdez. The infielder would single two more times to improve his slash to .314/.435/.486 over 23 games and 70 at-bats. A relatively small sample, but it’s hard not to be impressed by what Horwitz is doing right now. Rotoworld Today, 12:52 pm

    • Picks up seventh steal
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a strikeouts in a 3-2 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday.

Advice: Cruz reached base on a single in the first and proceeded to steal second but failed to score. Cruz doesn't run often, but he's successful when he does, as he's only been caught stealing once in 12 attempts since the beginning of 2023. The 25-year-old is slashing .240/.294/.425 with 12 homers, 37 RBI, and seven steals this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:49 pm

    • Idle Thursday
Rutschman isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Rutschman will get a day to regroup Thursday after being held hitless in 13 at-bats over his last four games. James McCann will instead get the nod to start at catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am
