• Another quality start Saturday
Gilbert gave up one run on three hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Saturday. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: Gilbert allowed a run in the second inning on a couple singles, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly, but that was the extent of the damage. While his efforts weren't rewarded with a win, Gilbert continued his run of strong pitching with a third consecutive quality start since his eight-run hiccup in Minnesota on May 9. Gilbert is tied with Jose Berrios and Seth Lugo for the most quality starts in baseball this season with nine in 11 turns to date. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:48 pm
  • Connects for first homer of 2024
Duran went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to the Twins.

Advice: Duran finally got on the board with his first long ball of the season, though that wasn't enough to save him from being lifted for a defensive replacement (Travis Jankowski) later in the game. While Duran now has a .284 batting average, he has just a .683 OPS, and his playing time has been trending downward. The 25-year-old had been in the starting lineup for just two of the Rangers' last six games entering Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:37 pm

  • Notches sixth save
Duran threw a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout against the Rangers on Saturday to earn his sixth save of the season.

Advice: The Twins grabbed the lead in the bottom of the eighth on an Alex Kirilloff three-run homer, and Duran was there the next half inning to close the door. He retired the side in order on just eight pitches and is now the team leader in saves with six to Griffin Jax's five, even though Duran missed the first month of the season due to an oblique injury. Duran has been used occasionally in the eighth since making his return, but he's still clearly the preferred closing option in Minnesota when manager Rocco Baldelli has the luxury of holding him back for the ninth. • Five innings in no-decision
Paddack did not factor into the decision Saturday against the Rangers. He allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three and not walking a batter over five innings.

Advice: Manager Rocco Baldelli had Paddack on a short hook and lifted the right-hander after 73 pitches, after Paddack gave up single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, including a solo homer off the bat of Ezequiel Duran in the fifth. Paddack had a nine-run blowup against the Orioles back on April 16, but overall he's putting together a highly successful comeback season after missing the better part of two years following Tommy John surgery. The 28-year-old has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five starts and now has a 3.05 ERA in seven starts since that aforementioned disaster outing in Baltimore. • Racks up three steals in loss
Doyle went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run scored in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Doyle has gone 15-for-54 (.278) with nine steals over his last 15 games. The outfielder's speed is not in question, but that's an impressive stretch on the basepaths for just about anyone. On the year, he's at 13 thefts on 14 attempts while slashing .272/.338/.433 over 201 plate appearances. He's added five home runs, 10 doubles, two triples, 15 RBI and 32 runs scored. • Unlucky to take no-decision
Hudson allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Given the venue and opponent, it's a surprise that Hudson had arguably his best outing of the campaign. He pitched well enough to win, but the Rockies' bullpen melted down in the ninth inning to rob Hudson of his second victory on the year. The right-hander trimmed his ERA from 5.89 to 5.54 with a 1.59 WHIP and 28:28 K:BB over 50.1 innings over 10 starts this season. It doesn't get any easier for Hudson, who is projected to make his next start at Dodger Stadium. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:29 pm

  • Logs steal in win
Stubbs went 2-for-4 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Stubbs' playing time remains low as backup to J.T. Realmuto. This was Stubbs' first multi-hit effort of the season, but he's still just 3-for-24 (.125) in May. The catcher is at a .140/.213/.140 slash line with three steals, two RBI and three runs scored over 47 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm
  • Perfect at plate Saturday
Schwarber went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-4 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Schwarber has multiple hits in three of his last five contests, though his double Saturday was his first extra-base hit since May 16. The 31-year-old slugger is up to a .234/.356/.396 slash line with nine home runs, 31 RBI, 40 runs scored and two stolen bases over 235 plate appearances this season. Schwarber's drop in power this season isn't a great sign after exceeding 45 homers in back-to-back years, but he continues to both walk (16.2 percent) and strike out (29.8 percent) at high rates. • Sewald records four save against Marlins Saturday
Paul Sewald tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Sewald has allowed one run with seven strikeouts and one walk in seven appearances and converted all four of his save opportunities since coming off the injured list. Fantasy managers that held Sewald since the beginning of the year can’t ask for much more than what they’re getting right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:17 pm
