    • Adames slugs three-run home run in win Sunday
Willy Adames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run against the Reds on Sunday.

Advice: Adames’ home run was his 12th of the season. The three-run shot gave Milwaukee a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning. Adames is only hitting .244 this season, but has 51 RBI hitting fourth for the Brewers. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:21 pm

    • Dylan Cease chased early against Mets
Dylan Cease allowed seven earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Mets. He struck out five, walked three, and was tagged with the loss.

Advice: The Mets jumped all over Cease with a four-run first inning and sent him packing before he could finish four innings. His command was poor overall and he served up meatballs to Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso that found the seats. This was only the third time this season Cease did not complete at least five innings and it’s unlikely Sunday’s start becomes part of a larger trend. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:14 pm

    • Zack Wheeler bombarded by Orioles
Zack Wheeler allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out four and walked two.

Advice: This was Wheeler’s worst start as a Phillie and the first time he’s allowed eight earned runs since 2018. Baltimore jumped on him with homers in each of the first three innings and then Jordan Westburg put the cherry on top with his three-run blast. Even the best pitchers in baseball have a day like this and it’s less surprising when it comes against one of the best lineups in baseball. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:44 pm

    • Austin Riley heating up, homers again
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a game-tying two-run home run and two runs scored on Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: Congratulations to all the fantasy managers who kept their patience with Riley because the hot streak is officially here. He homered in every game this weekend and has raised his OPS from .618 to .695 since Friday. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:26 pm

    • Back in lineup as DH
Perez (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Perez is battling a right knee sprain, but it's said to be relatively minor. He'll play through the injury Sunday, albeit in a non-defensive role. It's uncertain when he may return to catching duties. The team recalled Austin Nola from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, and Nola's presence on the roster affords Perez and the Royals some time to get him right before he slots back in behind the plate. • Salvador Perez (knee) back in lineup Sunday
Salvador Perez (knee) is back in the lineup as the designated hitter Sunday against the Dodgers.

Advice: Perez was removed Friday after experiencing discomfort in his right knee, and while the backstop did miss Saturday’s game, he’s feeling well enough to be the designated hitter and hit cleanup against the Dodgers in the final game of the three-game set. Great news for all parties involved. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:16 am

    • Singles in first rehab game
Polanco (hamstring) started at designated hitter in High-A Everett's win over Eugene on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.

Advice: Polanco was lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning, but he got a solid amount of plate appearances in during his first game action of any kind since May 26. The veteran infielder is slated to play with the AquaSox again Sunday before shifting his rehab assignment to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, per Ryan Division of The Seattle Times. • Kyle Gibson placed on bereavement list
Cardinals placed RHP Kyle Gibson on the bereavement list.

Advice: Gibson will be away from the Cardinals for three days while dealing with things more important than sports. Ryan Loutos is up to take his place on the active roster. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:17 am

    • Goes on bereavement leave
The Cardinals placed Gibson on the bereavement list Sunday.

Advice: Gibson has left the team following a death in the family. Per MLB rules, players placed on the bereavement list have to be deactivated for a minimum of three days and a maximum of seven days, making it unclear if Gibson will be ready to rejoin the team ahead of his next scheduled start. The Cardinals had confirmed Gibson as their starting pitcher for Wednesday's game in Miami, though that announcement was made prior to his placement on the bereavement list.
