    • Records fourth steal in win
Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a walk in a win over the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Rooker provided the only multi-hit effort of the night for the Athletics while tying the career high of four stolen bases he'd set in 2023. The 29-year-old is on a week-plus tear at the plate, one that's seen him hit .394 and generate four multi-hit tallies in his last nine games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:56 am

    • Two hits, stolen base in win
Marte went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's victory over the Dodgers.

Advice: Marte singled home Corbin Carroll in the top of the fifth to extend Arizona's lead to two runs before also going on to swipe his fourth bag of the season and first since June 11 against the Angels. The second baseman tallied two knocks on the night and has now posted multiple hits in four of his last seven contests. Marte has also hit safely in three straight and in six of his last seven. • Scheduled for follow-up MRI
Friedl (hamstring) is scheduled for a follow-up MRI exam soon, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: If the results of the exam show progress, Friedl will likely be cleared to begin running and more advanced baseball activity. The outfielder said he's playing catch and swinging off a tee. Friedl was eligible to be activated off the 10-day injured list July 4. Rotowire.com Today, 5:56 am

    • Another three-hit performance
Witt went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Witt drove home Kansas City's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the third before recording hits in each of his next three trips to the plate, including a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. It was the star shortstop's third multi-hit performance in his last three games and he's now tallied at least one RBI in four straight. Witt is 6-for-11 (.545) through three games to start the month of July and his .319 average on the season puts him at second in the majors behind only Steven Kwan (.367). • Witt Jr. a triple shy of the cycle against Rays
Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI against the Rays on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Witt Jr.'s 14th of the season. He took Pete Fairbanks deep with a solo shot in the ninth inning. Witt Jr. remains one of the best hitters in fantasy this season. He’s hitting .319 with a .925 OPS and 58 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:53 pm

    • Suffers ugly loss Thursday
Maeda (2-5) allowed nine runs on nine hits across 3.2 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Twins. He walked three and struck out three.

Advice: It was another ugly performance for Maeda, who saw his season ERA climb to 6.71. Outside of a clean first inning, the veteran allowed multiple runs to score in each of his other frames. Maeda had a decent 2023 campaign for these same Twins, posting a 4.23 ERA and 1.17 WHIP across 104.1 innings, but he hasn't carried that over into his first season in Detroit. The righty lines up to start again Tuesday against the Guardians, though at this point he can't be trusted by fantasy managers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:19 pm
    • Brent Rooker has two hits, steals base in victory
Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Thursday in the Athletics’ win over the Angels.

Advice: Rooker extended Oakland’s early lead with a run-scoring single in the third inning off Angels starter Roansy Contreras before picking up his fourth theft of the season later in the frame. The 29-year-old outfielder is in the midst of a strong season with an .880 OPS with 17 homers and four steals through 74 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:22 pm

    • Kenta Maeda tagged for nine runs by former team
Kenta Maeda was lit up for nine runs in 3 2/3 innings by his former team in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: It’d be nice to think that such an awful performance was the result of his old team knowing something no one else did, but Maeda actually turned in one of his better starts of the year against the Twins back in April. This makes losses in four straight decisions for him, and his ERA stands at 6.71. Maybe the Tigers will try stashing him on the IL again, though that didn’t work in May. It seems more likely that they’ll just live with the results, as contention scarcely appears to be in the cards anyway. He’s in the first year of a two-year deal, so releasing him isn’t likely to be considered. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm
    • Cleared for rehab start
Woo (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Everett this weekend, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Woo came out of a bullpen session Wednesday with no concerns, clearing the way for him to make a rehab start. Mariners manager Scott Servais wouldn't rule out a return before the All-Star break for Woo, so it sounds like the right-hander could need just the one rehab outing if all goes well.
