    • Candelario has two-hit game in loss Saturday
      Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-5 with an RBI against the Cubs on Saturday.

      Advice: It was a relatively quiet night for the Reds offense. Despite scoring five runs, four of them were unearned thanks to an error by Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki. Candelario chipped in later with an RBI single. After hitting .189 in April, he hit .247 with three home runs in 24 games in May.       Tucker went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in a 5-2 win against the Twins on Saturday.

      Advice: Tucker hit one of four homers against Minnesota starter Joe Ryan with a solo shot in the third inning. It was the 19th long ball of the campaign for the outfielder, second in the majors behind Aaron Judge (21).     • Sent down after poor start
      Detmers (3-6) took the loss Saturday against the Mariners, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks with three K's in 3.2 innings. He was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake after the start.

      Advice: Detmers started the season as one of the Angels' top starters and garnered wins in each of his first three starts, striking out 26 batters with two runs allowed across 17.1 innings. However, he hasn't gotten in the win column since and has yielded at least three runs in eight straight starts. Outside of a decent 8.9 K/9 across 40.1 innings, nothing has been working for Detmers lately, allowing 10 long balls and 20 walks over that stretch. The 24-year-old was a reliable arm for Los Angeles the past two seasons and it's possible that a Triple-A stint will help the southpaw regain some confidence and find his previous form.       Angels optioned LHP Reid Detmers to Triple-A Salt Lake.

      Advice: The 24-year-old southpaw was hit hard again in Saturday’s loss to the Mariners — giving up five runs over 3 2/3 innings — and that was apparently the last straw. Detmers has posted a miserable 6.14 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 70/27 K/BB ratio over 63 innings through 12 starts on the season. He’ll work to refine his craft at the Triple-A level before hopefully rejoining the Angels’ rotation later in the season.       Advice: Detmers gave up four hits, walked four and struck out three. He continues to struggle as he’s now allowed at least four runs in seven of his last eight starts. Detmers hasn’t won a game since winning his first three starts of the season. His ERA is now the worst it’s been all year at 6.14.       Parker (4-3) took the loss to the Guardians on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Parker loaded the bases and allowed a two-run single to Kyle Manzardo in the first inning and surrendered another run in the third when Jose Ramirez scored on a wild pitch. Parker's four walks were a season high, but he was still able to pitch into the sixth and has not allowed more than three runs in any of his nine starts this season.       Langford went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a 7-0 win against the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: Langford singled and scored a run in the fourth inning then added a two-run base hit in the ninth. In four games since returning from the injured list with a hamstring strain, Langford has posted two multi-hit efforts and totaled four RBI. Langford's current slash line of .229/.292/.290 has obviously been disappointing, but he appears healthy and has started each game since his return from the injured list on May 28.       Francys Romero reports that the White Sox plan to recall Oscar Colas from Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.

      Advice: With Luis Robert Jr. nearing a return, the timing doesn’t seem optimal for the 25-year-old outfielder to get a real shot at playing time with the White Sox, so we’ll see how this one goes.       Colas was called up to the White Sox on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

      Advice: Colas' call-up comes after Andrew Benintendi (Achilles) and Andrew Vaughn (finger) sustained in-game injuries Saturday, making it likely that at least one of the two will require a stint on the IL.
