• Joins Triple-A Nashville
Teheran was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville on Monday, per MLB's transactions log.

Advice: Teheran was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Friday, and after failing to draw interest on waivers, he'll report to Triple-A. The veteran posted a 4.40 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with a 50:13 K:BB across 71.2 frames during the regular season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:03 pm

  • Confirmed starter for Game 2
Berrios will start Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series on Wednesday against the Twins, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet reports.

Advice: The Blue Jays confirmed earlier in the day that Kevin Gausman will take the ball for Game 1, and it'll be Berrios who gets a shot in the second game of the series. The right-hander gave up four runs in each of his last two starts of the regular season, so he'll look for a better result in Wednesday's outing. Rotowire.com Today, 11:17 am
  • Should be ready for Tuesday
Lewis (hamstring) is expected to be listed on Minnesota's roster for its upcoming Wild Card Series against Toronto, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Lewis sounded unsure about his availability when speaking with media earlier in the day, but Hayes notes that he demonstrated his health during Monday's workout. Hayes also acknowledged that it's likely Lewis will be limited to the DH role, but it would still be a big boost for the Twins to get his bat back in the starting nine. Expect the official roster to be revealed Tuesday morning. Rotowire.com Today, 11:08 am

  • Not at Twins' workout Monday
Buxton (knee) did not participate during the Twins' on-field workout Monday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Advice: It seems likely that Buxton probably did some stuff out of the public view Monday, but he was not part of the workout with his teammates. Buxton has been sidelined since early August with a hamstring injury and more recently a flare-up with his knee issue. His inclusion on the Twins' Wild Card Series roster has to be considered a major question mark at this point. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 am

  • Elects free agency
Adrianza elected free agency Monday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Adrianza cleared waivers after being removed from Atlanta's 40-man roster last week and will now get an early start to free agency. The utility player missed a large chunk of the 2023 season with elbow and shoulder injuries but his versatility will be appealing to some teams, albeit probably on a minor-league deal. • Outrighted by Rays
Ramirez cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Florida Complex League on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Ramirez is no longer on the Rays' 40-man roster and will not be part of their Wild Card Series roster against the Rangers, but he will work out with other at the team's spring training complex in Florida in case he's needed. The veteran reliever posted a 6.41 ERA over 38 appearances for the Nationals and Rays in 2023. Rotowire.com Today, 7:41 am
  • Officially tapped for Game 1
Gausman will start Game 1 of the American League Wild Card Series for the Blue Jays on Tuesday versus the Twins, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.

Advice: Once the Blue Jays clinched a playoff spot and were able to scratch Gausman from his scheduled start in their regular season finale, it was obvious they were doing it in order to set him up for Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. Gausman finished the regular season on a high note, tossing a combined 13 shutout frames in his last two starts. He'll be opposed by Pablo Lopez on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am
  • Uncertain for wild-card round
Lewis (hamstring) acknowledged that he's uncertain if he'll be available to play Tuesday in Game 1 of the Twins' wild-card round series with the Blue Jays, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lewis made his final appearance of the regular season Sept. 19 before landing on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. He was able to take part in simulated games last week, but he said Monday that he still isn't yet running at 100 percent. Even though speed is a big component of Lewis' game, the 24-year-old has been one of the Twins' more productive batters when healthy, so he could still be activated for the wild-card round to serve as a designated hitter. The Twins will likely re-evaluate Lewis early Tuesday before deciding on his status for the upcoming three-game series. Rotowire.com Today, 6:47 am

  • Could miss playoffs due to shoulder
Manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Woodruff is tending to a right shoulder capsular injury and will be out for the Brewers' wild-card round series with the Diamondbacks, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "His availability for the postseason is up in the air at this point," Counsell added.

Advice: Woodruff appeared to be lined up to start Game 2 of the series Wednesday, but those plans will be scrapped after the shoulder issue cropped up following his final regular-season appearance Sept. 23. The right-hander, who already missed four months earlier in the campaign with a Grade 2 subscapular strain, will get a second opinion later this week, but his chances of pitching in the postseason don't seem promising even if the Brewers make a deep run, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Freddy Peralta now becomes the most likely candidate to start Game 2 after Corbin Burnes takes the hill for Game 1 on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am
