• Receives injections in pitching arm
Manoah has officially been ruled out for the season after receiving multiple injections in his right arm in recent weeks, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Blue Jays team doctors have found no structural damage in Manoah's pitching arm, but the hurler has continued meeting with additional specialists over the last month. The goal with those visits, per Nicholson-Smith, is to rule out elbow and shoulder problems as well as thoracic outlet syndrome. The injections were given in order to reduce inflammation and soreness. Manoah hasn't thrown off a mound in several weeks and it's not clear when he might be able to again, but regardless he's not going to make it back before the end of this season. It officially closes the book on what has been a nightmarish campaign for the 25-year-old righty. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

  • Gets four outs Wednesday
Abreu (forearm) struck out one in 1.1 innings Wednesday against the Orioles.

Advice: He did not allow a hit or a walk in this outing. Abreu was struck on his right forearm by a comebacker in Sunday's game against the Royals, but it seems like he is a healthy option going forward. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago
  • Earns eighth win
Gray (8-12) earned the win Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over five innings against the White Sox. He struck out four.

Advice: Gray allowed just one run on the afternoon despite allowing the leadoff man to reach in three of the five innings in which he appeared. The right-hander was also gifted with plenty of run support early, helping him cruise to his eighth win of the season and his first since July 22. Gray came into the game having lost each of his last four decisions (spanning seven starts) but he's now allowed three runs or fewer in three consecutive outings. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago
  • Optioned to Triple-A
Beeks was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Beeks is making room for the return of Jason Adam from the injured list. The left-hander threw 40 pitches over two scoreless relief innings in Wednesday's loss to the Angels, so he probably wasn't going to be available for a day or two. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago
