    • Report: White Sox intend to trade Garrett Crochet
      USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported that “the White Sox intend to trade [Garrett Crochet] by the July 30 trade deadline.”

      Advice: According to Nightengale, the White Sox “quietly engaged in brief contract extension talks” with Crochet,” but there is “no optimism towards reaching an agreement,” so the team is now intent on moving him. As of now, the White Sox have allegedly had 15 teams call to express interest in Crochet, who is making just $800,000 and is under team control through 2026. Some potential concerns surrounding the left-hander are just how much he’ll pitch over the summer after having already thrown 21 more innings than his entire career total heading into this season. There are some additional concerns about whether “a team acquiring Crochet may have to offer a contract extension for him to lift those innings restrictions in the second half because of the potential of an injury risk.” We should get more clarity on Crochet’s market over the next couple of weeks, but he seems like a strong bet to be dealt.     • Blake: Rodón working to adjust gameplan
      Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake said Carlos Rodón is working to adjust his approach as team’s key on hitting his fastball.

      Advice: Speaking to The Athletic, Matt Blake said he doesn’t have long-term concerns with Rodón despite the left-hander allowing 20 earned runs and a 1.253 OPS in his last three outings. “I think it’s being ready to adapt your plan early because it’s clear that teams that can hit the fastball are targeting him early,” Blake said. “There are more guys like him who throw the ball hard with good profiles and... there’s just less room for error with that stuff. Even if that’s how you got paid, that’s not necessarily your map for success down the road. The more we can adjust and adapt to the league and the sooner we can do that, the easier it is...You’re not asking him to be crafty, but you’ve got to have a better rhythm than that.” Rotoworld Today, 8:25 am

      Crochet came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies in 14 innings, striking out 11 over seven frames while allowing two earned runs on five hits and zero walks.

      Advice: After Crochet had thrown 85 and 91 pitches in his prior two starts, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Tuesday that the lefty's workload was "going to start dwindling" moving forward while the White Sox look to prioritize his long-term health. Even though he was mowing down the Colorado lineup for most of the afternoon, Crochet was still pulled after tossing 88 pitches and covering seven innings. If Crochet's pitch count continues to hover around the 85-to-90 range in his future starts, it could hurt his chances of coming away with wins, though he's notched only six wins through his first 18 starts while he's been supported by a weak White Sox lineup. Even so, Crochet remains a must-start fantasy option as long as he's active, as he's thus far provided elite ratios whenever he's taken the hill. The southpaw now owns a 3.02 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a league-leading 141 strikeouts over 101.1 innings this season. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start in Miami next weekend.       Garrett Crochet allowed two runs in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.



      Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out 11. He was excellent once again. Both runs Crochet allowed came in the second inning when the Rockies scored on a balk and a sacrifice fly. Otherwise, he dominated with 11 strikeouts and now has a 3.02 ERA on the season. Crochet continues to make his case for the American League Cy Young award. In his last 11 starts, he has a 1.48 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

    • Gives up six runs in no-decision
      Suarez came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins. He allowed six runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings.

      Advice: Suarez struggled mightily Sunday, allowing a season-high six runs. The left-hander pitched into the fifth inning and did not record a single strikeout, the first time in his career he has had zero strikeouts in a start. He faced 26 batters Sunday, making it the first time a Phillies pitcher has faced at least 26 batters in a game without recording a strikeout since 2017.     • Dazzles with 10 Ks
      Lugo (11-2) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings.

      Advice: Lugo was dominant Sunday, throwing 66 of his 93 pitches for strikes en route to 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old logged his fourth consecutive quality start and his 14th of the season, tied for first in MLB. Over his past four starts, the right-hander has registered a robust 1.46 ERA along with a 1.01 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 24.2 innings.     • Lugo shuts down Guardians, picks up 11th win
      Seth Lugo threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Royals’ 6-2 victory over the Guardians on Sunday.



      Advice: Lugo gave up four hits, walked one and struck out 10. The win was his 11th of the season. It was another excellent start for Lugo, who lowered his ERA to 2.17 on the season with the effort. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next weekend.

    • Ranger Suárez hit hard by Marlins
      Ranger Suárez allowed nine hits and six earned runs in just 4 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Marlins. He walked two and didn’t record a strike out.

      Advice: This was undoubtedly Suárez’s worst outing of the season. It was the first time in his career he didn’t strike out a batter out in a game he started as the Marlins were all over him. He especially struggled commanding his sinker and fell behind far more often than he has throughout his strong season. This game doesn’t change anything for Suárez going forward, but it stands as a worthy reminder that Suárez’s effectiveness is deeply rooted in command and a pitcher’s command can be wonky game to game.       Kimbrel worked around two walks in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Kimbrel, who hadn't walked multiple batters in an outing since May 8, was able to pitch his way out of trouble. He's allowed two runs (one earned) while posting a 13:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings in June, converting six of his seven chances this month. Kimbrel is up to 19 saves with a 2.37 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 30.1 innings overall. Kimbrel has pitched three of the last four days, so he may not be available if a save situation arises Sunday. With Jacob Webb, Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez also having pitched Friday and Saturday, there could be an opportunity for Dillon Tate or Bryan Baker to get a look in a high-leverage spot.
