    • Miguel Rojas plates four as Dodgers top Giants
      Miguel Rojas went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs on Saturday night, propelling the Dodgers to a 14-7 victory over the Giants in 11 innings in San Francisco.

      Advice: Rojas got the Dodgers on the board in the second inning with an RBI single off of Spencer Howard that plated Andy Pages. He drove in Pages again with an RBI knock in the fourth inning then scored on an RBI single by Will Smith. The 35-year-old shortstop also drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning, dropping an RBI single into center field that plated Chris Taylor. He finished his night with a sacrifice fly that capped off a seven-run uprising in the 11th.     • Works around two walks for save
      Kimbrel worked around two walks in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

      Advice: Kimbrel, who hadn't walked multiple batters in an outing since May 8, was able to pitch his way out of trouble. He's allowed two runs (one earned) while posting a 13:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings in June, converting six of his seven chances this month. Kimbrel is up to 19 saves with a 2.37 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 30.1 innings overall. Kimbrel has pitched three of the last four days, so he may not be available if a save situation arises Sunday. With Jacob Webb, Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez also having pitched Friday and Saturday, there could be an opportunity for Dillon Tate or Bryan Baker to get a look in a high-leverage spot.     • Craig Kimbrel works around two walks for save
      Craig Kimbrel walked two, but didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Saturday against the Rangers.

      Advice: Kimbrel walked Leody Taveras to lead off the inning and then gave up a stolen base to the outfielder, and he then got the next two outs. He issued another free pass to Josh Smith, but he was able to get Adolis Garcia to fly out and pick up the save. Crisis averted. Kimbrel has 19 saves and a 2.37 ERA in the first half of 2024.     • Strikes out eight in win
      Bassitt (7-6) earned the win over the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one unearned run on six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings.

      Advice: Bassitt fired five scoreless innings before Anthony Volpe reached on an error in the sixth and came around to score on a single by Aaron Judge. Bassitt has now logged three consecutive quality starts and has not allowed more than three earned runs in an outing since April 26. The 35-year-old has lowered his ERA over two full runs since the conclusion of April and now owns a 3.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:37 K:BB over 97.1 innings this season.     • Chris Bassitt strikes out eight in win vs. Yankees
      Chris Bassitt allowed one run -- zero earned -- with eight strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Yankees on Saturday.

      Advice: Bassitt was excellent against the Yankees, tossing his third straight quality start. He tossed four scoreless frames before the Yankees brought a run in after an error in the fifth. Bassitt would close out a scoreless sixth with eight strikeouts on the day. The 35-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 3.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 91/37 K/BB ratio across 97 1/3 innings.       O'Hoppe went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's 5-2 win against Detroit.

      Advice: O'Hoppe broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning with his three-run blast to left field. The backstop has struggled at the plate of late, going just 6-for-33 (.182 average) with 12 strikeouts over his past 10 games, though he has two homers and six RBI during that stretch. O'Hoppe is one of six catchers in the league this season with double-digit home runs, and he ranks eighth among backstops with 37 RBI. Rotowire.com Saturday, 8:53 am

      Fry went 3-for-4 with two doubles in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

      Advice: Fry is 12-for-40 (.300) over his last 12 contests, adding five doubles and two RBI in that span. That's a bit less all-around production than he was showing earlier in the campaign, but it's still a solid showing. He's now at a .316/.422/.532 slash line with eight home runs, 32 RBI, 28 runs scored, four stolen bases and 13 doubles through 60 games.       Stroman came away with a no-decision in Friday's 16-5 rout of the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: The veteran right-hander made his big-league debut with the Jays in 2014 and had trouble keeping his composure in his return to Toronto, getting the hook after 88 pitches (52 strikes) and not sticking around long enough to benefit from a season-best offensive explosion by the Yankees. Stroman completed six innings only once in five June starts, but on the year he still sports a 3.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 70:43 K:BB through 95.2 innings.       Logan O’Hoppe hit a go-ahead three-run homer to help the Angels to a 5-2 win Friday over the Tigers.

      Advice: O’Hoppe came up big — a three-run homer is always big, of course — in the seventh with a 418-foot blast to give the Angels a 5-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It also gave O’Hoppe 37 RBI and 11 homers, putting him on pace for exactly 22 roundtrippers and 74 runs driven in.
