      Advice: This was Garcia's third homer in his last four games and his 11th long ball of the campaign. The outfielder is hitting just .190 (8-for-42) over his last 10 contests, but five of his hits in that span have gone for extra bases.       Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

      Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound.       Ketel Marte smacked a run-scoring triple off of Jack Flaherty on Saturday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Diamondbacks to victory over the Tigers.

      Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman extended his hitting streak to 17 games and broke a scoreless tie with his run-scoring triple off of the Tigers’ right-hander in the sixth inning. He then scored on an RBI single off the bat of Joc Pederson.       Adolis García swatted a solo homer to help the Rangers to a win in extra-innings Saturday.

      Advice: García swatted a solo homer in the sixth inning of Patrick Sandoval to get the Rangers on the board. That’s the 11th homer for the 31-year-old slugger, and the 35th RBI.       Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Mariners, yielding just one hit and three walks over six shutout innings. He recorded seven strikeouts.

      Advice: Rodriguez missed a little more than two weeks with right shoulder inflammation and made his return Saturday without going out on a rehab assignment first. He showed that he didn't need one, as he didn't give up his first and only hit on the night until there was one out in the sixth inning (and even that was just an infield single). Rodriguez was limited to just 82 pitches in his first start back, but he still managed to complete six frames because he was so efficient. The righty displayed his normal velocity and induced 13 swinging strikes on his 82 pitches.     • Justin Verlander allows four in loss to Brewers
      Justin Verlander gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings while receiving a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: Verlander has essentially alternated strong starts with poor ones since coming off the injured list, and this one goes on the ineffective side. The right-hander allowed four hits and two walks, and the big blow was a three-run homer allowed to William Contreras. He’ll be back on the mound Friday against the Athletics.     • Grayson Rodriguez strikes out seven in no-decision
      Grayson Rodriguez was outstanding in his return from the injured list on Saturday, racking up seven strikeouts over six innings of shutout baseball in a tough-luck no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: The right-hander allowed just one hit and three walks on the night. That one hit didn’t come until Julio Rodriguez reached on a one-out infield single in the sixth inning. The 24-year-old hurler got 13 swings and misses on 82 pitches on the night — six of those on his slider — while registering a CSW of 28 percent. He exited the game with a 2-0 lead and in line for his fifth victory of the season, but the O’s bullpen would blow that lead the following inning.       Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with two RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.



      Advice: Perez had a two-run single in the first inning that opened the scoring. The 34-year-old backstop has been great this year as he’s hitting .333 with a .949 OPS. His walk percentage is nearly double what it usually is at 7.8 percent and his strikeout percentage of 15 percent would be his lowest since 2015. Still, we can’t expect Perez to keep up this average as his .368 BABIP is 77 points higher than his career .291 BABIP.
