    • Corey Seager hitless on Friday in return to lineup
Corey Seager (hamstring) went 0-for-3 on Friday in his return to the lineup.

Advice: Seager went 0-for-3 before being lifted for a pinch-runner in the late stages of Friday’s series opener against the Mariners. The Rangers have tried to be cautious with their 30-year-old superstar over the last few days as he attempts to play through a minor left hamstring issue. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a few extra maintenance days off moving forward in an effort to prevent the lingering issue from getting worse. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 am

    • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 am

    • Delivers quality start
Ragans allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Ragans had just one bad inning -- he gave up a two-run home run to Miguel Rojas and a solo shot to Chris Taylor in the fifth. Aside from that, it was smooth sailing for Ragans, who earned his fifth quality start in his last six outings, though he has just two wins in that span. The Royals' ace is now at a 3.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 102:26 K:BB over 86 innings across 15 starts this season. He's given up more than three runs just twice, with both of those games being seven-run mishaps, so he's often been even more dominant than his surface stats would suggest. Ragans is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:04 pm

    • Removed with knee discomfort
Perez was pulled from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest. If he does have to miss any amount of time, Freddy Fermin would be the next man up to serve as Kansas City's catcher. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:21 pm

    • Cole Ragans holds Dodgers to three over seven
Cole Ragans picked up no-decision after allowing three runs in seven innings of work against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Ragans struck out four and walked one. He scattered six hits allowed, but two of those were homers from Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor. Even with the roundtrippers it’s another quality outing from the 26-year-old, albeit one that doesn’t come with many strikeouts nor a win. Ragans is back on the bump with a very friendly on-paper matchup next week against the A’s. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Homers vs. Miami
Thomas went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in Friday's 8-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Thomas provided the big blow in the Nationals' seven-run third inning, cranking a three-run homer off Shaun Anderson, his fifth this season. The 28-year-old outfielder extended his hit streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) in that span. Overall, Thomas is slashing .231/.295/.359 with 21 RBI, 18 runs scored and 16 stolen bases through 40 games this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:01 pm

    • Lane Thomas mashes three-run homer
Lane Thomas went 2-for-5 on Friday with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored in a win over the Marlins.

Advice: Thomas has once again been a dynamo this season in the heart of the Nationals’ order. The home run was his fifth in just 40 games - a 20 homer pace - to go along with 16 stolen bases. His .231 batting average and .295 on-base percentage are a bit of a drag, but are easy to stomach with those gaudy counting numbers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:10 pm

    • Returns to lineup
Seager (hamstring) is serving as the Rangers' designated hitter and batting second Friday against the Mariners.

Advice: Seager was dealing with tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game, and he was scratched from the lineup as a precaution after having missed four games earlier in the week due to hamstring problems. The issue has now subsided ahead of Friday's contest, and he will look to remain hot at the plate after going 8-for-21 with a homer and four RBI in six games since the beginning of June. • Logs steal Friday
Herrera went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 3-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Herrera is up to four steals this season, three of which he's recorded over 11 games in June. The catcher is batting .316 (12-for-38) this month, adding five doubles, seven runs scored and one RBI. For the season, he's at a steady .273/.335/.366 slash line with three home runs, 17 RBI, 22 runs scored and six doubles over 179 plate appearances. Herrera has started behind the dish just once in the last five games, though it's unclear why his playing time has dipped since Pedro Pages has made little impact with his bat.
