Through 86 games this year, Witt is slashing .312/.363/.534 with 12 home runs, 22 stolen bases, 54 RBI, 65 runs, 22 doubles and nine triples. He's made modest gains in plate discipline with a 7.3 percent walk rate (up from 5.9 percent last year) and 16.7 percent strikeout rate (down from 17.4 percent) to sustain his elite production.       Gunnar Henderson announced on ESPN that he will participate in this year’s Home Run Derby.

    • Allows seven runs in loss
      Gausman (6-7) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits, five walks and a hit batsman against the Yankees. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Gausman needed 107 pitches to record 13 outs, allowing season highs in runs (seven) and walks (five) while being tagged for three extra-base hits including a first-inning Aaron Judge two-run blast. Gausman did strike out seven batters to represent the fourth time this season he's reached at least seven in an outing, but that's nothing more than a minor silver lining around Sunday's ugly performance. It's the fifth time this season Gausman has allowed at least five runs in a start, and he closes the month of June with a 5.64 ERA over 36.2 innings spanning six starts.       Jose Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a double and an RBI against the Royals on Sunday.

      Bobby Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a triple and an RBI against the Guardians on Sunday.

      Advice: Witt Jr. scored the first run of the game on Salvador Perez’ force out in the first inning. In the fifth inning, he drove in a run with a triple and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Witt Jr. is hitting .312 with an .897 OPS and 54 RBI on the season.     • Kevin Gausman loses, struggles again
      Kevin Gausman allowed seven runs in just 4 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Yankees. He walked five and struck out seven in a loss.

      Advice: Gausman just hasn’t been right all year. Aaron Judge crushed a first-inning fastball that wasn’t up-and-in enough and the Yankees kept traffic on the bases seemingly every inning. His tried and true game plan of fastballs and splitters does not have the same potency it used to as his fastball velocity has dipped and hitters don’t chase or whiff on that splitter like they once did.       Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Royals.

      Advice: Ramirez has already had a strong first half of the campaign, but he's been especially impressive lately. Over his last 12 games, he's batting .340 (17-for-50) with five homers, four stolen bases, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored. He's now hitting .280 on the year with an .890 OPS, 23 homers, 75 RBI, 64 runs scored and 15 steals.       Jung will visit a specialist Monday for evaluation of his surgically repaired right wrist, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The Rangers pulled back on Jung's hitting progression Saturday for a second time this week. "A couple of days ago he was feeling really good," Texas manager Bruce Bochy said. "We were optimistic he would be swinging [Saturday]. There is still just a little soreness in there. We want to get rid of that before we ramp him up again." The team had prepared for Jung's return this week, but depending on how Monday's visit goes, he may not be ready until after the All-Star break.
