    • Shaun Anderson gives up six in spot start vs. M’s
Shaun Anderson gave up six runs in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday.

Advice: Anderson gave up nine hits without issuing a walk and striking out three. He pitched a clean second frame, but he gave up two in the first and another four in the third before leaving. The right-hander has an ERA of 12.46 in his limited action, so even if he gets another start, fantasy managers should look almost literally anywhere else before considering him as a streamer. • Aroldis Chapman picks up second save of 2024
Aroldis Chapman picked up a save against the Rays on Saturday despite allowing a run in his inning of work.

Advice: It’s just the second save of the season for Chapman. The 36-year-old southpaw allowed an RBI double to Yandy Diaz, but it came with the Pirates holding a two-run cushion. Chapman isn’t likely to see many save chances as long as he’s behind David Bednar. Rotoworld Today, 3:16 pm
    • Chase Silseth gets hit hard in third rehab start
Chase Silseth (elbow) was hit hard in his third minor league rehab start at Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, giving up five runs on eight hits over his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander also issued three walks while striking out a pair in the ballgame. He has been abysmal through three starts at the Triple-A level this season, posting a 10.22 ERA, 2.43 WHIP and a 9/11 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings. He did get up to 92 pitches (56 strikes) in the outing though and with the recent injuries to Jose Soriano and Patrick Sandoval, the Angels may have no choice but to bring Silseth up and roll him out at some point next week. • Rockies designate Geoff Hartlieb for assignment
Rockies designated RHP Geoff Hartlieb for assignment.

Advice: Hartlieb has been removed from Colorado’s 40-man roster after allowing 10 runs (nine earned) with a 7/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings of work (five appearances) this season for the Rockies. The 30-year-old righty will almost certainly pass through waivers unclaimed. Rotoworld Today, 12:57 pm
    • DFA'd by Colorado
The Rockies designated Hartlieb for assignment Saturday.

Advice: After having his contract selected June 8, Hartlieb appeared in five games for the Rockies, registering a 9.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over nine innings. The move corresponds with Colorado selecting the contract of Austin Kitchen from Triple-A Albuquerque. Rotowire.com Today, 12:57 pm
    • Gregory Santos (lat) faces hitters on Saturday
Gregory Santos (lat) faced hitters on Saturday in a live batting practice session.

Advice: Santos continues to progress towards making his Seattle debut after a spring training lat issue put him on the shelf to open the year. There’s a chance he’s ready to bolster the Mariners’ high-leverage relief mix at some point in a couple weeks, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Today, 12:12 pm

    • DFA'd by Houston
The Astros designated Speas for assignment Saturday.

Advice: Speas has taken the loss in each of his last two games with Triple-A Sugar Land, allowing five runs on one hit and five walks while striking out three across 1.1 innings. For the season, Speas has an 8.00 ERA and 2.44 WHIP over nine frames in the minors. Rotowire.com Today, 12:05 pm

    • Shifting to bullpen
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that Dunning will move to the bullpen with Max Scherzer (back) set to return Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Across 12 starts this season, Dunning holds a 4-6 record with a 4.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67:29 K:BB across 59 innings, though he's given up 11 runs over his last three starts and has failed to make it to the sixth inning since April 7 against the Astros. Dunning could prove to be more effective out the bullpen in long relief while starting on occasion depending on the Rangers' schedule. Rotowire.com Today, 11:46 am

    • Astros designate Alex Speas for assignment
Astros designated RHP Alex Speas for assignment.

Advice: The move frees up a spot on Houston’s 40-man roster for the club to add reliever Bryan King ahead of Saturday’s game against the Orioles. The hard-throwing 26-year-old righty made one relief appearance for the Astros earlier this season after being claimed off waivers from the division-rival Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 11:38 am
