    • Continues power surge
Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Santander produced the first run of the contest with his solo shot to right field in the second inning. He's gone deep in three of his past five contests to push his season total to 12 long balls. Santander is also working on an eight-game hitting streak during which he's gone 11-for-30 (.367 average) with three homers, six RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:51 pm

    • Provides insurance with homer
Arenado went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: This was Arenado's third homer in his last seven games, doubling his total to six long balls on the year. He's gone 6-for-28 (.214) in that seven-game span as he continues to put it all together this season. The veteran third baseman is at a .252/.306/.376 slash line with 28 RBI, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles and no stolen bases through 58 contests in 2024, numbers far too similar to the down year he posted in the abbreviated 2020 campaign. • Homers twice in win
Devers went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, a walk, three total RBI and three total runs scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Devers opened the scoring with an opposite-field solo shot off Spencer Schwellenbach in the second inning before extending the Red Sox lead to 8-0 with a two-run blast off left-hander Ray Kerr in the seventh. The 27-year-old Devers is now 7-for-19 (.368) with three homers and six RBI in his last five contests. He's slashing .288/.380/.576 with 13 homers, 32 RBI and 34 runs scored across 221 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:19 pm

    • Royals-Guardians postponed
Singer and the Royals won't play the Guardians on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cleveland.

Advice: The Royals and Guardians will make up the postponed game as part of a split doubleheader Aug. 26 After missing his previous turn through the rotation last Thursday due to an illness, Singer was cleared to start Wednesday, but he looks like he'll have to wait until Thursday's series finale with the Guardians to make his return to the rotation. • Nolan Arenado goes deep, Cardinals edge Astros
Nolan Arenado slugged a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting the Cardinals to a 4-2 victory over the Astros.

Advice: Arenado supplied a key insurance run for the Cardinals’ bullpen with a sixth-inning solo shot off Astros starter Ronel Blanco. It was his sixth round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last seven contests since May 28. The 33-year-old remains stuck in one of the most challenging extended power outages of his career, but he’s shown a bit of a spark lately, and might finally be turning things around. We’ll see. • Rafael Devers homers twice in rout
Rafael Devers homered twice, drove in three runs and walked Wednesday in the rout of the Braves.

Advice: Devers took advantage of the Green Monster twice today, hitting his homers 358 and 361 feet to the opposite field. He’s 6-for-15 with three homers and six RBI in four games to begin June, and he’s tied for eighth in the AL with 13 homers overall. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:25 pm

    • Managing back issue
Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Winn is absent from Wednesday's lineup in Houston due to a lingering back issue, Bally Sports Midwest reports.

Advice: Winn has required some extra days off this season because of a back problem that dates back to spring training. He had to be checked on by the trainer during Monday's game versus the Astros when the injury flared up during an at-bat, but Winn remained in that contest and also played Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk and a stolen base. While the injury does not seem to be affecting Winn's performance, the club wants to be proactive with rest. Brandon Crawford is occupying shortstop Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:01 am

    • Masyn Winn sits for second time in a week
Masyn Winn is being rested for the second time in a week Wednesday against the Astros.

Advice: Unless there’s something going on here that the Cardinals aren’t disclosing, it’s weird that the team has decided the 22-year-old shortstop needs three days off out of the last seven (the team didn’t play last Thursday). Winn went 3-for-3 with a homer last night, pushing him up to .309/.359/.446, and his backup, Brandon Crawford, doesn’t seem to have much to offer at this point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:44 am

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Winn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Houston.

Advice: Winn had a big night in Tuesday's loss to the Astros, reaching base four times while hitting a home run and stealing a base. He will receive some rest during Wednesday's matinee, with Brandon Crawford getting a start at shortstop. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:38 am
