The backstop has struggled at the plate of late, going just 6-for-33 (.182 average) with 12 strikeouts over his past 10 games, though he has two homers and six RBI during that stretch. Nonetheless, the slugger's ninth-inning, two-run single resulted in his recording of at least one RBI for the sixth time over his past 10 contests.       Luis Rengifo hit a two-run homer in the Angels’ win Friday over the Tigers.

      Advice: Rengifo gave the Angels a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-run swat off Kenta Maeda. Those would be the only runs the Angels would pick up off Maeda, but the Halos were able to get to the Detroit bullpen to pull off the win.       Logan O’Hoppe hit a go-ahead three-run homer to help the Angels to a 5-2 win Friday over the Tigers.

      Advice: O’Hoppe came up big — a three-run homer is always big, of course — in the seventh with a 418-foot blast to give the Angels a 5-2 lead and ultimately the victory. It also gave O’Hoppe 37 RBI and 11 homers, putting him on pace for exactly 22 roundtrippers and 74 runs driven in.
