      Advice: Ohtani had gone seven games without a steal, and he hit just .167 (5-for-30) over that span. That's a rare cold spell for one of baseball's best players, who continues to do it all out of the No. 2 hole for the Dodgers.       Advice: Greene was staked to an early 4-0 lead but gave it all back when he served up a grand slam to Seiya Suzuki in the bottom of the second inning. All three runners on base for the big homer had reached via walk, so Greene's wildness played a big part in his poor stat line.       Steele allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and four walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

      Advice: Steele's fantasy stat line wasn't disastrous since only one of the five runs charged to him was earned, but he was far from sharp, especially in terms of control. The southpaw hit a batter in addition to issuing a season-high four walks, and he threw just 58 of 98 pitches for strikes. Steele is usually much better at limiting free passes -- before Saturday, he had issued only seven walks over six starts -- so this was likely just a bump in the road for him.       Miller (5-5) earned the win over the Angels on Saturday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings.

      Advice: The score was close early on, but a four-run fourth inning for Seattle put Miller on cruise control. The right-hander racked up 13 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts, which tied his second-highest total of the season.       Hunter Greene allowed five runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Cubs on Saturday.



      Advice: Greene gave up three hits, walked five and struck out five. He had won two of his previous three starts and hadn’t allowed more than three earned runs in his last six starts. Greene only allowed three hits but one of them was a grand slam off the bat of Seiya Suzuki. His ERA is up to 3.44 on the season now. He’ll get another chance against the Cubs at home next week.

    • Steele allows five runs in no-decision
      Justin Steele allowed five runs (one earned) in five innings and got a no-decision in the Cubs’ 7-5 victory over the Reds on Saturday.



      Advice: Steele gave up seven hits, walked four and struck out five. He seemed to be turning a corner with seven shutout innings in his last start, but this was a setback for Steele. Even though most of the runs were unearned, he’s now allowed at least five runs in four of his last five starts. Steele has completed six innings in only two of his seven starts this year. His ERA was mostly spared in this one and now sits at 4.10 for the season, but when you add it all up this isn’t a recipe for winning games right now. The 28-year-old left-hander will look to improve against the Reds on the road next week.

    • Miller strikes out nine in win Saturday
      Bryce Miller threw six shutout innings and picked up the win in the Mariners’ 9-0 victory over the Angels on Saturday.

      Advice: The win was Miller’s fifth of the season. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out nine. Miller’s ERA is now 3.18 on the season.     • Reese Olson hit for five runs in loss to Red Sox
      Reese Olson allowed five runs with five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Olson surrendered a solo homer to Enmanuel Valdez in the second inning. Two base hits and a groundout would bring a second run in to score for Boston in the third. The Red Sox added a run in the fourth on a double and a sacrifice fly. Olson would pitch into the sixth before Valdez got to him again with a two-run blast. That would do it for the 24-year-old right-hander, ending his day with a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 52/20 K/BB ratio across 61 2/3 innings.
