    • Yainer Diaz (finger) returns to action on Friday
Yainer Diaz (finger) returned to the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 25-year-old backstop has been in the lineup since he took a foul tip off of his finger during Sunday’s game. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter and bat fifth against tough left-hander Tarik Skubal while Victor Caratini does the catching for the Astros and will bat eighth. Rotoworld Friday, 1:28 pm

    • Returning to lineup
Diaz (finger) is batting fifth and is the designated hitter for Friday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Diaz missed three straight games with a right index finger injury, but he'll be back in action Friday. Considering his injury impacts his throwing and accuracy, Diaz could require a few more games at DH before working behind the dish. The 25-year-old had a six-game hit streak prior to being injured with four homers during that stretch. Rotowire.com Friday, 1:20 pm

    • Picks up ninth steal
Henderson went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Thursday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Henderson has two steals over 12 games in June, and he's gone 16-for-48 (.333) with three home runs and six doubles in that span. The shortstop has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 contests as he continues to provide all-around excellence from the top of the Orioles' lineup. He's at a .273/.372/.592 slash line with 21 home runs, nine steals, 47 RBI and 55 runs scored through 67 games overall. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:07 am
    • Duran has two hits, two RBI in win Thursday
Jarren Duran went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, a run scored and two RBI against the Phillies on Thursday.

Advice: Duran’s two-run double in the second inning made it 4-0 Red Sox. He scored on Tyler O’Neill’s three-run home run in the fourth inning that gave Boston an 8-3 lead. Duran is hitting .272 with 30 RBI with the Red Sox this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:25 pm

    • Collects season-high four hits
Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead, and his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time this season, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:06 pm

    • Ozzie Albies collects four hits against Orioles
Ozzie Albies had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: That as many hits as he had in his previous seven games combined. Albies hasn’t been a disaster for the Braves this season, but he has been quite a fantasy disappointment, mostly because he’s been limited to four homers in 58 games. He finished with 33 in 148 games last year. It’s the result of injuries and the short 2020, but it’s kind of funny that through Albies’ first seven seasons (not including the partial 2024), he’s had at least 24 homers four times and no more than eight the other three years. • Could start rehab games Tuesday
Contreras (forearm) is hoping to begin a rehab assignment around June 18, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Contreras is just five weeks into a projected 10-week timetable following surgery to repair a fractured left forearm, but Goold writes that the catcher is "eager to push the timetable for his return." He took batting practice in the cage Thursday and has been catching bullpen sessions without issue. If Contreras is indeed able to start a rehab assignment by Tuesday, he could be just a week or so away from activation. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:26 am

    • Taking full BP in cage
Contreras (forearm) will take full batting practice in the indoor batting cage Thursday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Contreras is barely more than a month removed from surgery to repair a fractured left forearm. He was given a 10-week timetable to return following the operation but would appear to be ahead of schedule, given that he's already taking batting practice. Before being activated from the injured list, Contreras will surely need to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but it's uncertain when he might be cleared to join one of the Cardinals' affiliates for game action. • Hits seventh homer
Marte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in Monday's 10-4 victory against the Marlins.

Advice: Marte swatted a 434-foot solo shot in the fifth inning and added an RBI single in the eighth. The veteran outfielder finished with two hits for the third straight game. He's on a hot streak that has lasted more than two weeks -- Marte has seven multi-hit efforts in 10 contests since May 29 and is batting .471 (16-for-34) with nine RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases over that stretch.
