    • Reaches 20-homer mark
Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's 12-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Alonso was one of two Mets to reach the 20-homer threshold this season, as both he and Francisco Lindor hit the mark in this blowout win. Alonso has come out of the gates swinging in the second half, going 7-for-23 (.304) over six games since the All-Star break. The first baseman is at a .244/.324/.458 slash line with 53 RBI, 57 runs scored, two stolen bases and 23 doubles through 101 contests this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm

    • Another three-hit effort
Turner went 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: Turner has logged back-to-back three-hit efforts after opening July in a 4-for-41 slide. While he didn't knock an extra-base hit Wednesday, it's still encouraging to see the veteran make better contact. For the year, he's slashing .243/.339/.359 with six home runs, 31 RBI, 35 runs scored and no stolen bases across 85 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Justin Turner collects three hits in win vs. Rays
Justin Turner went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI against the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: Turner has turned things around after struggling through most of July. He knocked three base hits on the day, driving in a run and scoring in a four-run eighth inning for Toronto. It was his second consecutive game with three hits. The 39-year-old veteran is hitting .242/.338/.358 with six homers, 35 runs scored, and 31 RBI across 331 plate appearances. • Big day in Wednesday's win
De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two additional runs scored and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 9-4 win over Atlanta.

Advice: After singling and swiping his 50th bag of the season in the first inning, De La Cruz took Allan Winans deep in the third for his 18th long ball. The 22-year-old shortstop did commit two more errors in wet conditions, giving him 20 on the year, but that's about the only blemish on his season so far. In addition to leading the majors with 51 steals, De La Cruz has an 11-game hit streak going in which he's batting .378 (17-for-45) with five doubles, a triple and three homers. • Takes loss Wednesday
Neris (8-3) allowed a run on two hits over an inning of work to take the loss Wednesday against the Brewers. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris allowed his first run since June 17, snapping a streak of nine straight scoreless appearances, as Milwaukee prevailed 3-2 late. The veteran reliever endured a rough patch last month, but his recent strong play should keep him locked into Chicago's closer role despite Wednesday's hiccup. He now has a 3.79 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 38 strikeouts across 35.2 innings this season, to go along with a team-high 14 saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:20 pm
    • Cincinnati-Atlanta postponed
Martinez and Cincinnati won't face Atlanta in the final contest of Wednesday's doubleheader after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: Martinez was initially scheduled to start Tuesday. However, rainouts on consecutive days will keep him from making his first start since May 22. With an off day on tap Thursday, the Reds will likely elect to skip Martinez's turn in the rotation until a fifth starter is next needed July 30 versus the Cubs. The Reds could get Carson Spiers (shoulder) back from the injured list to start that game, in which case Martinez would likely continue to work out of the bullpen. • Elly De La Cruz homers, gets 50th steal in victory
Elly De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with a homer and his 50th and 51st steals of the year Wednesday as the Reds topped the Braves 9-4 in the first game of a doubleheader.

Advice: Ronald Acuña Jr. had 23 homers and 49 steals through 101 games last year on his way to a 40/70 season. De La Cruz is at 18 homers and 51 steals through 101 games this year. He also has his average up to .262, which is the highest it’s been since May 21. He was down in the .230s for a time in June, but he’s come in at .336 in his last 26 games. • Reds could trade multiple relievers at deadline
According to The Athletic’s C.Trent Rosecrans, the Reds “are informing teams they will trade relievers” at the deadline.

Advice: The “decision stems from a roster crunch, not a move to become outright sellers,” so the Reds will only look to move relievers who will be free agents at the end of the year. That includes players like Lucas Sims, Buck Farmer, Justin Wilson, and Nick Martinez. Veteran right-handers Emilio Pagán and Ian Gibaut are out of options and getting closer to a return, leaving the Reds short on roster spots for relievers they’d like to keep, which is why they might be looking to rearrange deck chairs in their bullpen. • Could need season-ending surgery
Yelich (back) will see a spine specialist Thursday to discuss the next steps in his recovery, with season-ending surgery representing one possibility, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Yelich's on-again, off-again back injury flared up Tuesday, and he was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Season-ending surgery would be a worst-case scenario, and it's unclear at this point what the likelihood of an operation would be, but the fact that it's even on the table is concerning. At the very least, Yelich should be expected to spend more than the minimum 10 days on the shelf. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:09 am
