David Fry made an early exit from Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays with a potential injury.
Advice: MLB.com’s Henry Palattella adds that Fry was apparently struck in the head by a practice swing from Danny Jansen in the opening frame, so it’s highly likely he’s been lifted from the contest for precautinary reasons to undergo testing for a possible concussion. There should be an update on his status shortly. RotoworldSunday, 11:34 am
O'Hoppe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday.
Advice: O'Hoppe tagged Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow for a solo shot in the seventh inning. The long ball pushed the backstop up to 10 homers through 246 plate appearances on the season after he went deep 14 times across 199 plate appearances as a rookie last year. Among MLB catchers, O'Hoppe ranks sixth in home runs and is tied for eighth with 32 RBI. Rotowire.comSunday, 8:25 am
Logan O’Hoppe slugged a solo homer on Saturday in the Angels’ loss to the Dodgers.
Advice: O’Hoppe was the lone Angels batter to do any damage against Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow as he connected for a fifth-inning homer in this one. It was his 10th round-tripper of the season. The 24-year-old backstop is quietly emerging as one of the better fantasy catchers as he’s on pace to easily eclipse the 20-homer threshold in his full-season debut after being limited to just 51 games last year due to a shoulder injury. David Fry is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Blue Jays.
Advice: After lighting the world on fire for a couple of weeks at the plate, Fry has fallen on hard times since the calendar flipped to June — hitting just .208/.269/.292 with zero homers, three RBI and a 10/3 K/BB ratio over 52 plate appearances in his last 12 games. Austin Hedges will function as the Guardians’ catcher on Friday night and will bat ninth against Yariel Rodriguez and the Blue Jays. RotoworldFriday, 1:32 pm
Fry is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.
Advice: After making three straight starts -- one at catcher, two at DH -- Fry will take a seat Friday. Steven Kwan will DH and lead off while Austin Hedges catches and bats ninth. After batting .383 with seven homers in May, Fry has cooled off significantly in June, batting .208 without a home run in 52 plate appearances. Rotowire.comFriday, 1:20 pm
