    • Civale allows four runs in loss to Orioles Friday
Aaron Civale allowed four runs in five innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Friday.

Advice: Civale gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out eight. He’s won just two of his 13 starts this year. Tampa Bay acquired Civale last year and he had a 5.36 ERA in 10 starts. In 13 starts this year, his ERA is 5.91. If the Rays of all teams can’t fix him, I don’t know if any team can. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cubs at home next week. • Nick Lodolo limits Cubs to one run in victory
Nick Lodolo held the Cubs to one run in six innings and struck out seven in the Reds’ 3-2 victory Friday.

Advice: A Dansby Swanson homer was the only damage. Lodolo picked up his sixth win in nine starts this year, matching his total in 26 starts between 2022 and ’23. He’ll take a 2.92 ERA into his next start versus the Reds. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
    • Up to 17 saves
Finnegan earned the save Friday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta, striking out a pair in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan is now 17-for-19 in save chances this year, tied for fourth-most in the majors. The right-hander's allowed just two earned runs in his last 23 appearances (23.1 innings), lowering his ERA to 1.80 with a 0.92 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 25 innings this season. • Bednar picks up 13th save Friday
David Bednar tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Twins on Friday.

Advice: The save was Bednar’s 13th of the season. He blew three of his first four save opportunities this season, but since then he’s converted on 12 consecutive save chances. After a rough beginning to the season, he looks like one of the more reliable closers in the league. Rotoworld Today, 6:10 pm
    • Confirmed for Saturday start
Bradish will start Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles' original schedule would have placed Bradish on the mound Thursday against Toronto but he'll get two extra days of rest before taking on the Rays at Tropicana Field. Manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Bradish's start wasn't pushed back due to health concerns, so he should be a full go Saturday. Bradish faced the Rays in his last start, yielding five runs over 2.2 innings in a no-decision. Rotowire.com Today, 1:49 pm

    • Another rehab start coming
Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cole made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Somerset, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He threw 45 pitches and touched 97 miles per hour, which is in line with his normal velocity. Cole should see his pitch count lightened Sunday, though he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing before coming off the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com Today, 1:27 pm

Gerrit Cole’s second rehab start as he returns from an elbow injury will come for Double-A Somerset on Sunday.

    • Homers in loss
Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Abrams broke a scoreless tie in the sixth frame with his leadoff homer against Atlanta starter Reynaldo Lopez. The shortstop came into the contest having gone 1-for-21 over his previous seven games and recently missed time due to a shoulder issue, so the long ball was a much-needed positive development. Abrams reached 10 homers on the campaign with Thursday's blast, but he's slashing a meager .246/.293/.456 through 247 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm

    • Logs steal in three-hit game
Tatis went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Tatis has racked up nine hits over his last three games and is batting .449 (22-for-49) during his 12-game hitting streak. In addition to the hot bat, Tatis took advantage of getting on base Thursday by picking up his first steal since May 7. The outfielder is up to a .283/.356/.450 slash line with seven thefts, 10 home runs, 32 RBI and 41 runs scored through 66 contests this season, and he's been one of baseball's hottest hitters so far in June.
