      Advice: Gilbert had posted back-to-back starts of eight shutout innings, so this was a small step back. It was an improvement on his previous start versus the Twins, in which he allowed a season-high eight runs over four innings in Minnesota on May 9. Since that start, Gilbert has completed at least six frames in each of his last nine outings, earning eight quality starts in that span. He's at a stellar 2.72 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 102:21 K:BB over 112.1 innings across 17 outings this season. Gilbert's lined up for a tough matchup versus the Orioles in his next projected start.       Logan Gilbert gave up two runs in six innings while not factoring into the decision against the Twins on Friday.

      Advice: Gilbert struck out three while allowing just four hits and no walks. The right-hander saw his streak of 21 scoreless innings come to an end when Carlos Correa socked a two-run homer off the right-hander to give Minnesota a 2-1 lead. Outside of that, it was another outstanding effort for the right-hander, and concludes a June that likely will see him win AL Pitcher of the Month.     • Triston McKenzie pulled in third against Royals
      Triston McKenzie gave up five runs in 2 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Royals.

      Advice: McKenzie issued the first intentional walk of his career to Bobby Witt Jr. in the third, though it was one of those in which the pitcher got to a 3-0 count and then put him on. The Royals went on to score three times afterwards, though things were probably trending in that direction anyway. McKenzie’s velocity has climbed some since the start of the year, but his results have been dreadful lately; he’s pitched just 7 2/3 innings and given up 12 earned runs and 11 walks in his last three starts.       McKenzie (3-5) took the loss Friday in Kansas City, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.

      Advice: The Cleveland right-hander closed out a tough month with this performance, failing to pitch past the third inning for the third consecutive start. Over five June starts, McKenzie posted a 9.33 ERA, 2.13 WHIP and 19:15 K:BB across 18.1 innings. The 26-year-old is currently scheduled to face the White Sox at home in his next outing.       Fedde (5-3) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk over six innings while striking out five.

      Advice: Fedde got off to a rough start, surrendering a leadoff home run to Shohei Ohtani to open the game before getting tagged for another three runs in the third. The right-handed veteran would allow just one more hit over his final three frames, but the damage had already been done as the White Sox's offense failed to provide any run support. Fedde has now gone at least six innings in four consecutive starts and hasn't walked more than one batter in any of his six outings this month.       Eovaldi didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Eovaldi had a troublesome third inning, allowing Jackson Chourio to reach on a leadoff single before letting Christian Yelich and Willy Adames get on base with two outs, leading to a Jake Bauers grand slam. The other run charged to Eovaldi came in the fourth frame, when Derek Hill couldn't make a diving catch in center field, allowing Chourio to get all the way around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Eovaldi's five runs allowed tied his season high, and he's allowed a home run in five consecutive starts. Overall, he owns a 3.45 ERA and 74 strikeouts across 73.0 innings.       Erick Fedde allowed four runs with five strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Fedde served up a solo homer to Shohei Ohtani to lead off the first inning. He retired the next six batters before loading the bases with no outs in the third. Teoscar Hernandez drove a run in on a sacrifice fly before Freddie Freeman cleared the bases with a double. Fedde tossed three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with five strikeouts.     • Nathan Eovaldi gives up first ever grand slam
      Nathan Eovaldi surrendered five runs in seven innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Brewers.

      Advice: Jake Bauers’ third-inning grand slam accounted for most of the damage. It was actually the first slam ever surrendered by Eovaldi; the league had hit just .227/.228/.267 in 79 career plate appearances with the bases loaded.       Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that Bello won't start Sunday's game against the Padres as previously planned and will instead make his next start Wednesday in Miami, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

      Advice: Heading into the week, Bello had been lined up for two starts, but the Red Sox are opting to give him more time off before his next turn after he was blasted for seven earned runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. According to Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald, Cora clarified that Bello isn't dealing with any sort of physical issue, and the right-hander's extra time off between starts is designed to help him better identify the source of the control problems that have become a recurring concern.
