• Activated from 60-day IL
The Rays activated Walls (hip) from the 60-day injured list Friday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Walls has been out all season following offseason hip surgery and had his recovery delayed due to inflammation in the hip. However, he recently got back up to speed during a five-game rehab stint with Triple-A Durham, going 8-for-21 at the plate. Walls could take some playing time away from Jose Caballero at shortstop while working in a utility role. Rotowire.com Today, 11:00 am

  • Slow start in rearview mirror
Amador has homered in three straight games and is slashing .333/.422/.741 with seven home runs and seven steals in his last 13 games for Double-A Hartford.

Advice: The prized second baseman slashed .135/.309/.144 with one extra-base hit in his first 32 games of the season, so his overall season stats aren't spectacular, but Amador is beginning to show the type of update that his dynasty managers were expecting. Amador is also a threat on the bases, having stolen 22 bags on 25 attempts in 45 games. He should be Ezequiel Tovar's double-play partner in Colorado for most, if not all, of 2025. • Pops three-run homer
Valdez went 1-for-6 with a three-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 14-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Valdez turned the game into a romp with his fourth-inning blast. He's hit safely in his last five contests, going 7-for-20 (.350) with three homers and eight RBI in that span. The 25-year-old is slashing just .189/.218/.378 through 120 plate appearances, but he's added five homers, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored across 35 contests. Valdez remains in a starting role at second base while Vaughn Grissom (hamstring) is on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:07 pm
  • Adael Amador up to six homers in last eight games
Rockies 2B prospect Adael Amador went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Thursday for Double-A Hartford.

Advice: It certainly feels like Amador has heard all of the recent chatter regarding his slow start this season at the plate in the upper minors as he’s exploded for six round-trippers over his last eight games for Triple-A Hartford. The 21-year-old top prospect still has plenty of work to do from a batting average standpoint, but the fact that he’s starting to hit for more over-the-fence pop is an extremely encouraging development. • X-rays negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after HBP
X-rays came back negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Hoerner remained in the contest and appears to have avoided serious injury after being plunked on the hand by a 96.5 mph fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene during the early stages of the game. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to wind up missing any time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 pm

  • Not starting versus lefty
Rojas is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Rojas will exit the starting nine while the Athletics bring southpaw JP Sears to the hill. Dylan Moore started at second base in Seattle's last two games but will shift over to third base Thursday while Rojas takes a seat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 am

  • Plays catch Thursday
Mateo (concussion) played catch on the field at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Thursday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Mateo was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Monday after his teammate, Cedric Mullins, inadvertently hit him with the bat in the back of the helmet while in the on-deck circle. It's not clear yet whether Mateo will have a chance to return when first eligible June 10, but him being able to travel with the team and take part in some baseball activities is a encouraging sign. • Heading to bench Thursday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Loftin had been excluded from the lineup the Royals released Wednesday before the game was ultimately postponed due to inclement weather, but he'll get a proper rest day Thursday. Garrett Hampson will step in at second base in place of Loftin, who had picked up starts in six of the Royals' previous seven games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:56 am

  • Brandon Lowe scores twice in win over Marlins
Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Rays triumphed over the Marlins.

Advice: Lowe smacked a one-out single into right in the first inning then came around to score on an RBI double by Isaac Paredes. He also delivered an RBI single in the third inning then raced around on a run-scoring double off the bat of Paredes. With his two-hit attack, the 29-year-old second baseman is now hitting .221/.329/.412 with two homers and 14 RBI through his first 22 games on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:04 pm
