• Exits with apparent injury
Urshela was removed from Friday's game against the Twins with an apparent injury, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Urshela appeared to be limping toward the dugout after grounding out in the second inning, and he was replaced at third base by Matt Vierling once the Tigers took the field. The team will take a closer look at Urshela and should offer more information regarding what exactly is bothering him relatively soon. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

Gio Urshela was removed from Friday’s game against the Twins in the second inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: The 32-year-old infielder appeared to suffer some sort of leg-related injury as he was running to first base on his groundout in the second inning. He was replaced defensively by Matt Vierling to start the home half of the second inning. Expect the Tigers to provide an update on his status as soon as one becomes available. • Eduardo Rodriguez expected to be out until June
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters this week that Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) is unlikely to make his 2024 season debut before June.

Advice: Lovullo told reporters, “I wanna believe he’s going to get strong and get healthy and magically come back sooner than later, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen. We’re gonna slow play this.” The Diamondbacks seem intent on making sure that he’s fully recovered this time around before resuming his throwing program, and then it’s going to take him a while to build back up. Fantasy managers in season-long leagues without IL spots, need to start weighing the costs and benefits of continuing for another six weeks or so with that dead roster spot. Rotoworld 50 minutes ago
  • Nearing rehab assignment
Manager Carlos Mendoza said Friday that Peterson (hip) is roughly one week away from beginning a rehab assignment, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Peterson has been sidelined all season after undergoing hip surgery in November. He will need to spend a significant amount of time in the minors as he builds up to a starter's workload, but he will have plenty of room to do so, as he is not eligible to return from the IL until May 27. • Kodai Senga (shoulder) throws bullpen on Friday
Kodai Senga (shoulder) threw a 26-pitch bullpen session on Friday.

Advice: It’s the second time that the 31-year-old right-hander has thrown off of a mound while recovering from his shoulder injury. It’s unclear how many more times he may need to repeat the process before he’s cleared to face live hitters, but he’s making tangible strides toward a return to the Mets’ rotation. He’s tentatively expected to return in late May, but could beat that timeline if he continues to progress. Rotoworld Today, 5:14 pm

  • David Peterson closing in on rehab assignment
Mets’ skipper Carlos Mendoza told reporters on Friday that David Peterson (hip) is about a week away from beginning his minor league rehab assignment.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw is working his way back from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip. He’s probably going to need at least three rehab starts — maybe more — before he’s ready to join the Mets’ rotation. It looks like he’s on track for a return at some point in mid-May. • Expects to make next start
Miley said Friday that he expects to make his next scheduled start despite taking a comebacker off his left knee during his outing Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Miley was hit by a 108-mph line drive during the first inning of Tuesday's loss and remained in the game for only two more innings. However, it seems the veteran southpaw was able to escape the incident with minimal damage. He's surrendered four earned runs across seven innings this year while striking out two batters and walking four, and he's lined up to start again Tuesday versus the Pirates.
