• Smacks leadoff homer
Betts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Betts snapped a 26-game homer drought with his leadoff blast Monday. He was far from a slouch in that span, batting .337 with an .848 OPS during the power drought. For the season, Betts is up to a .341/.440/.553 slash line with seven homers, 28 RBI, 35 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 11 doubles and two triples over 200 plate appearances. While it has cost him some power, Betts is enjoying the best plate discipline of his career with a 15.0 percent walk rate and 9.0 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm

  • Homers in consecutive games
Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Bogaerts has doubled his homer total for the year from two to four by going deep in each of the last two games. Prior to the power uptick, he endured an 0-for-15 slump over four contests. The veteran infielder is still battling inconsistency with a .212/.264/.318 slash line, 13 RBI, 23 runs scored, two stolen bases and six doubles through 182 plate appearances this season. He's never posted an OPS lower than .659 in a full campaign, and there's plenty of time for Bogaerts to turn things around in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:29 pm

  • Kevin Newman hits walk-off single against Reds
Kevin Newman went 4-for-5 with a walkoff two-run single in the ninth inning to give the Diamondbacks a 6-5 win Monday over the Reds.

Advice: Newman poked a single to right to score a pair of runners and turned a potential 5-4 loss into a 6-5 win. The 30-year-old former first-rounder has hit just .253 even with those four hits, and what was once an intriguing fantasy prospect is now someone who can be ignored on waivers. Monday was a good one, however. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:04 pm

  • Xander Bogaerts hits fourth homer versus Rockies
Xander Bogaerts hit his fourth homer Monday in a losing cause against the Rockies.

Advice: Sure, Bogaerts doesn’t get many hits, but at least two of his three in the last week have been homers. It’s been a scary decline from the 31-year-old, who is both striking out more and hitting the ball less hard than usual. We’re still hopeful that he’ll figure it out, but we were more optimistic a couple of weeks ago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:52 pm

  • Doubles, triples, drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and a run scored during Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario's two-out, two-run triple in the first put the Rays on the board while his run-scoring double in the eighth provided the Rays with their final margin of victory. Rosario has found a regular role as the top utility man for Tampa, batting .296 with a .312 on-base percentage, six doubles, three triples, two homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs and five stolen bases over 138 plate appearances. • Homers again
Lopez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Monday against the Tigers.

Advice: Lopez took advantage of his third-straight start in place of Tim Anderson by collecting his fourth hit and second homer during that short stretch of games. Lopez has played 17 games this season totaling 32 at-bats, hitting .313 with three homers, six RBI, eight runs and a steal. Lopez has displayed a nice hit tool throughout his seven-year rise through the minors, topping .300 in three separate seasons, but the recent power surge is not consistent with his expected profile. • Amed Rosario delivers three RBI in Rays’ win
Amed Rosario went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday, propelling the Rays to a 5-3 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario kicked off the scoring with a two-run triple into the right-center field gap in the opening frame before coming around to score on ensuing batter Richie Palacios’ run-scoring single. He also provided a key insurance run with an eighth-inning RBI double as well. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 pm

  • Otto Lopez smacks two-run homer in Marlins’ loss
Otto Lopez belted a two-run homer on Monday in the Marlins’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Lopez put the Marlins ahead briefly with an eighth-inning blast off Tigers reliever Alex Faedo with two outs in the frame. It was his third long ball in just 17 games since being called up last month from Triple-A Jacksonville. The 25-year-old should continue getting a shot to prove himself with Miami and is off to a nice start, batting .313/.371/.656 with three homers and one steal in 35 plate appearances. • Sitting after four-hit game
Dubon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: After rapping out a season-high four hits in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Tigers, Dubon will retreat to the bench as the Astros open a four-game set with the Athletics. Dubon had started in four of the past five games, but he's still seemingly viewed as a utility player for Houston and hasn't yet seized hold of an everyday spot in the lineup.
