• Held out again Tuesday
India (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Phillies.

Advice: India has now been out of the lineup for three straight games as he battles a nasty illness. He remains day-to-day. Santiago Espinal will occupy second base again and it will be Stuart Fairchild in the leadoff spot. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago

  • Goes through full workout
Ibanez (hamstring) went through a full workout at second base on the field Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Advice: McCosky added that Ibanez didn't appear to be favoring his left hamstring at all. The veteran utility player would appear to be close to beginning a rehab assignment, with a return before the end of the month possible. Once he rejoins the Tigers, most of Ibanez's playing time figures to come against lefties. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

  • Yankees send DJ LaMahieu on rehab assignment
Yankees sent DJ LaMahieu on a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset.

Advice: The team was targeting LaMahieu to make a rehab assignment tonight and it looks like they are right on schedule with the 35-year-old. LaMahieu has been recovering from a fractured foot he suffered in the spring and could be a nice boost for the Yankees’ offense who have scored zero runs in two of their past three games. It’s unclear when he’ll make his return to the active roster, but this is a step in the right direction for the veteran infielder. Rotoworld Today, 10:36 am

  • Breaks slump with walk-off blast
Gorman hit a two-run, walk-off home run in his lone at-bat in Monday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gorman was given Monday off, but ultimately entered the game as a defensive replacement. His lone at-bat ended the game, as he took Kyle Nelson deep in the ninth inning to complete the Cardinals' comeback win. Gorman has four homers, 10 RBI, six runs scored and three doubles over 84 plate appearances this season, but he's slashing just .179/.238/.372 and striking out at a 38.1 percent clip, so he's not out of the woods yet. Gorman should continue to play against most right-handers, but he'll rarely be in the lineup versus southpaws. Rotowire.com Today, 10:21 am

  • Rehab assignment will be brief
LeMahieu (foot) has said he expects to play "less than five" rehab games before being activated, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: LeMahieu is beginning a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Tuesday. Assuming the Yankees concur with the infielder's assessment of how many rehab games he will require, it sounds like he could be back as soon as the weekend series in Milwaukee. LeMahieu has been out all season with a a bone bruise and non-displaced fracture in his right foot. Oswaldo Cabrera's production has slowed since a hot start, so LeMahieu should quickly regain his role as the primary third baseman. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 am

  • Activated from Triple-A IL
Vivas (eye) has been activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Vivas suffered an orbital fracture late in spring training but is now ready for game action. The 23-year-old utility player is on the 40-man roster and could eventually push for his first big-league promotion this season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 am

  • Takes modest step toward return
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday that Lowe (oblique) has started swinging a bat and fielding ground balls, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe landed on the injured list April 12 with a right oblique strain but doesn't appear close to being activated, despite having been able to take part in some baseball activities. Curtis Mead and Amed Rosario will likely continue to share work at second base in Lowe's absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:21 pm

  • Smacks second homer
Caballero went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday against the Tigers.

Advice: Caballero has made his mark with seven stolen bases across his first 22 games this season. However, he swatted his second homer of the campaign against Shelby Miller in the eighth inning, and he now has an extra-base hit in each of his last three games. Caballero has a clear path to playing time for the foreseeable future, as Taylor Walls (hip) has been shut down from baseball activities and is ineligible to return from the injured list until late May. • Swipes two bags Monday
Mateo went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases in Monday's 4-2 win against the Angels.

Advice: Mateo made his second start in three games and used his legs to help the Orioles score their second run, following a third-inning walk with a pair of thefts before coming home on an Adley Rutschman single. The performance was indicative of what Mateo brings to Baltimore -- he's an elite base stealer when he's able to reach, but with a career .224 batting average and .271 OBP, that doesn't happen enough to keep him in the lineup consistently. From a fantasy perspective, Mateo is most useful as a base-stealing specialist in leagues that allow daily lineup changes. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:07 pm
