      Berrios (8-6) picked up the win Tuesday against Houston, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout across five innings.

      Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard until the fifth inning, where he unwound and allowed three singles, a hit-by-pitch and a three-run home run. Still, Berrios was able to snare a second straight win as the Blue Jays had compiled seven runs prior to the fifth. The 30-year-old has been shaky as of late, owning a 5.97 ERA with 17 strikeouts and eight home runs allowed over his last five starts. He's scheduled to face the Mariners on Sunday.       Burleson went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Burleson fizzled late in June, going 1-for-14 over his last four contests, but he started July on a high note. The outfielder had great June overall, hitting .271 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, three stolen bases and an .824 OPS over 28 contests. That's earned him a starting role in right field and as the Cardinals' No. 2 hitter.     • Jose Berrios falters late in win over Astros
      Jose Berrios allowed five runs on five hits in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.

      Advice: Berrios kept the Astros off the scoreboard for the first four innings, but the fifth inning was a bit of a disaster. The inning started with a hit by pitch and then a walk and then was followed by two singles and a home run to push five runs across the plate and end his day. The veteran has a 3.63 ERA on the year, but his underlying metrics suggest some regression is coming. Still, he should be able to survive a showdown against the Mariners this weekend.     • Eovaldi allows one hit in win over Padres
      Nathan Eovaldi allowed one hit over seven innings while striking out six to earn the win on Tuesday against the Padres.

      Advice: Eovaldi was aided by a two-homer night by Nathaniel Lowe, but the veteran righty didn’t need much help. Eovaldi allowed just one baserunner on the night, which came on a Bryce Johnson single in the top of the third inning. Eovaldi lowered his season ERA to 3.15 in this one and bounced back nicely after allowing five earned runs in his previous outing.       Camilo Doval pitched a perfect ninth inning while striking out two in Tuesday’s win over the Braves.

      Advice: Doval now has 14 saves on the season and has allowed just one run since his four-run implosion against the Angels back in mid-June.     • Reynaldo López goes just 4 2/3 innings vs. Giants
      Reynaldo López allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings while striking out six in Tuesday’s loss to the Giants.

      Advice: López was pulled after 101 pitches, as the veteran righty allowed base runners on the night, with four coming via the walk. López gave up a solo homer to Jorge Soler in the fifth inning and later saw LaMonte Wade Jr. take him deep to tie the game at 2-2 before being pulled after retiring the next batter. López has allowed two earned runs or less in his last six outings but has walked four batters in back-to-back games.       Baz was scratched from his start with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

      Advice: Baz was removed from his outing in order to be available as a depth option for the Rays in case the team needs to play a doubleheader Wednesday or Thursday against the Royals, as inclement weather is expected in Kansas City.       Shane Baz was scratched from Tuesday’s start for Triple-A Durham.

      Advice: Baz was scratched to keep him available in case the Rays need to call up a starter for a potential Wednesday doubleheader against the Royals. With rain in the forecast in Kansas City on Tuesday night, Tampa Bay didn’t want to take any chances and not have Baz available, if needed. There’s still a bunch of hurdles to clear, but it’s possible the 25-year-old top pitching prospect could make his long-awaited return from Tommy John surgery later this week.       Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Corey Seager remains day-to-day with a left hand contusion.

      Advice: Bochy added that Seager is doing better after being hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game and was able to progress to swinging a bat again. Although he’s not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres it certainly sounds like he has a shot at getting back into game action at some point in the coming days.
