Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Cubs. He struck out three.

Advice: Eflin was solid Tuesday, holding Chicago to one run on a Christopher Morel homer through his first five innings. However, he'd ultimately depart with two outs in the sixth before the Rays' bullpen would allow an inherited runner to score. Eflin has now allowed four runs in 9.2 innings over two starts since returning from a brief stay on the injured list. Overall, he's 3-4 with a 4.06 ERA,1.15 WHIP and 50:4 K:BB across 12 starts (68.2 innings). Eflin is currently scheduled to face Atlanta on the road in his next outing. • Zach Eflin survives 5 2/3 innings in start
Zach Eflin allowed two runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: Eflin struck out three and walked none and gave up just one extra-base hit on the day. It just happened to be a home run to Christopher Morel. Eflin got just six whiffs on 41 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 23 percent CSW on the afternoon. The Cubs didn’t square anything up, but it feels a bit like Eflin was lucky to get out of the game with just two runs allowed. He’ll take a 4.06 ERA into a tough showdown against the Braves this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:18 pm

    • Kutter Crawford bounces back in loss to Phillies
Kutter Crawford allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits over six innings in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford had allowed 15 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in his last three starts, so giving up just two tonight is a huge step in the right direction. He also struck out eight and walked just one while posting a 28 percent whiff rate and a 36 percent CSW. Crawford was regularly in the zone with his fastball and cutter and posted four whiffs on seven swings with his splitter. It’s the kind of effort that should quiet some concerns about the 28-year-old, who will now take a 3.47 ERA into perhaps a tougher outing against the Yankees on Sunday. • Suffers first loss since April
Lugo (9-2) took the loss to the Yankees on Monday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Lugo had two rough innings, surrendering three hits and two runs in both the first and fourth frames. While all eight hits allowed in the game were singles, he only generated seven swinging strikes on 101 pitches. Lugo has now given up nine runs combined in two June starts after only yielding nine in the entire month of May, but his opponents in those two outings currently rank second and seventh in runs scored this season. Lugo still owns a 2.36 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 75:20 K:BB in 14 starts and lines up against the Dodgers, who rank fourth in runs scored in 2024, on Saturday. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:05 pm

    • Lugo allows four in loss to Yankees Monday
Seth Lugo allowed four runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Yankees on Monday.

Advice: Lugo gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out four. His ERA is now 2.36 on the season. Lugo’s xFIP is much higher at 3.93 and we might be approaching a conversation about what realistic expectations look like for Lugo the rest of the way. He continues to eat innings, but it’s worth noting that before last season when he made a career-high 26 starts, he was primarily used as a reliever throughout his career. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Dodgers on the road this weekend.

    • Set to throw off mound
Snell (groin) is scheduled to throw off the mound later this week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Snell landed on the injured list due to a mild left groin strain he sustained June 2 against the Yankees. He recently began throwing off flat ground, and the 31-year-old southpaw will take the next step in his rehab by throwing off a mound. Snell started in six games prior to his groin injury, going 0-3 with a 9.51 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB over 23.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:55 pm

    • Victorious once more
Rodriguez (7-2) picked up the win Sunday against Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Rodriguez retired the first 15 batters he faced Sunday but got into trouble during the sixth before exiting. After walking the leadoff batter in the sixth, Rodriguez generated a strikeout and a lineout but got the hook after allowing back-to-back singles. Still responsible for runners on first and third, Rodriguez was charged with a second earned run when Randy Arozarena hit an RBI single off Dillon Tate. Rodriguez has earned seven wins in 11 starts this season, owning a 3.21 ERA with a 10.1 K/9. He's on track to make his next start during a home series against the Phillies next weekend. • Grayson Rodriguez tires in 6th in win over Rays
Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs on two hits in 5 2/3 in a win over the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: Rodriguez struck out six and walked one on the day while posting a 33 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW. It was a solid day overall for the 24-year-old who tired with two outs in the sixth inning. Rodriguez walked the first batter of the sixth before getting two quick outs. However, he would then allow two straight hits to score a run and had another run come in to score off a reliever. Rodriguez remains one of the most talented young pitchers in the game and will carry a 3.27 ERA into a tough matchup against the Phillies next week. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:38 pm

    • Start pushed to Friday
Reds manager David Bell said Sunday that Greene's next start will be pushed to Friday against the Brewers, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: The right-hander was previously expected to start Tuesday versus Cleveland, but he'll get a bit of extra rest this week after throwing 111 pitches in each of his past two starts. Greene gave up nine earned runs in those outings but has a 3.61 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 84:32 K:BB over 77.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:24 am
