    • MRI shows mild groin strain
Snell has been diagnosed with a mild left groin strain following an MRI, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: The Giants expect to have a better idea Thursday as to a potential timetable for Snell, but the initial imaging seems to have revealed relatively good news. Snell's tenure with the Giants has gotten off to a rocky start, as he's posted a 9.51 ERA in five starts and made a pair of trips to the IL. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Next start pushed back
Crawford's next scheduled start will be pushed back to early next week against the Phillies, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Crawford's next turn comes up Sunday versus the White Sox, but the Red Sox want to give him some extra rest given his recent struggles (he's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five starts). Boston is expected to go with a bullpen game Sunday. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

    • Getting breather Wednesday
Walker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Walker is resting for just the second time of the season, with his first day off coming all the way back on April 21. Pavin Smith will start at first base for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:13 am
    • Red Sox may push back Kutter Crawford’s start
The Red Sox are looking at going with a bullpen game on Sunday and pushing Kutter Crawford’s next start back to Tuesday.

Advice: Bad news for those hoping Crawford would bounce back against the White Sox. He’ll instead face the Phillies if the Red Sox follow through on this, though at least he’d be doing so on six days’ rest instead of four. The Red Sox are off Monday, which makes the bullpen game a little more feasible. Rotoworld Today, 8:45 am

    • Activated for Wednesday's start
The Rays reinstated Eflin (back) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Justin Sterner to Triple-A Durham to clear the way for Eflin's return to the 26-man active roster. Eflin missed just over the minimum 15 days while recovering from lower-back inflammation, and the Rays signed off on him returning from the IL without a rehab assignment after he completed a 40-pitch, two-inning simulated bullpen session Sunday. According to MLB.com, manager Kevin Cash suggested that Eflin could face some limitations with his workload Wednesday, but the Rays will wait and see how the right-hander fares as the game unfolds before making any decisions on whether to cut his start short. • Rays activate Zach Eflin ahead of Wednesday start
Rays activated RHP Zach Eflin from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Eflin missed a couple of starts with back inflammation. He’ll make his return to the Rays rotation tonight against the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 am

    • Clutch homer Tuesday
Bohm went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Brewers in 10 innings.

Advice: Bohm got the Phillies on the board in the eighth inning, leading off the frame with a 420-foot blast off Elvis Peguero to tie the game, 1-1. It's the first homer since May 19 for Bohm -- he's gone just 11-for-57 (.193) since then following a red-hot start to the season. Overall, the 27-year-old third baseman is slashing .296/.350/.481 with six homers, 50 RBI, 29 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 61 games this season. Rotowire.com Today, 8:07 am

    • Extends hit streak vs. Rays
Bell went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to Tampa Bay.

Advice: Bell extended Miami's lead to 3-0 in the first inning with a two-run triple, his first three-bagger since 2022, before leading off the eighth with a double. With Tuesday's multi-hit performance, Bell's now hit safely in seven straight games, going 12-for-29 (.414.) with a 1.075 OPS in that span. After a brutal start to the year, the 31-year-old first baseman has boosted his slash line to .247/.318/.385 with six homers, 29 RBI and 26 runs scored across 61 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:22 am

    • Rough night in Cleveland
Lugo came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Guardians, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Kansas City staked the veteran right-hander to a 5-0 lead, but homers by Josh Naylor in the bottom of the fourth inning and Tyler Freeman in the seventh fueled a Cleveland comeback. Lugo tossed 64 of 98 pitches for strikes before exiting, as he lasted at least six innings for the seventh time in his last eight trips to the mound, a stretch in which he sports a 2.19 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 57:12 K:BB through 53.1 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Mariners. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am
