Edman (wrist) will take live batting practice on Friday and Saturday at Double-A Springfield, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: If that goes well, Edman should be cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Springfield. Edman was recently set back a few days by a sprained ankle, but that appears to be a non-issue now. The Cardinals had been hoping to get Edman back prior to the All-Star break, but it's possible the little hiccup with the ankle last week will convince the club to push Edman's return back until the start of the second half. He's been out all season while recovering from wrist surgery. Rotowire.com Today, 9:30 am

    • Clubs fourth homer
Moreno went 3-for-5 with a double and a two-run homer in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Moreno doubled in his first at-bat before adding a two-run shot in the third to tie the game at 4-4. The catcher went on to reach three times in the contest and has now hit safely in each of his first two games since returning from the injured list (thumb). It marked Moreno's third three-hit performance of the campaign and he's now homered in two of his last three games (dating back to June 21). Rotowire.com Today, 7:56 am
    • Strikes out two for 21st save
Kimbrel picked up the save over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out two.

Advice: Kimbrel entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and fanned the first two batters he faced before getting Julio Rodriguez to pop out to first for the final out. The veteran reliever has converted each of his last five save attempts, posting a 9:3 K:BB over that stretch while not allowing any hits. Kimbrel has also recorded two or more strikeouts in four of his last five appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:08 am
    • Two thefts in win
Kim went 1-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and one run scored in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Kim has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) in that span. His pair of steals Wednesday were his first since June 20, and he's up to 18 thefts on 21 attempts this season. The infielder has added a .227/.335/.383 slash line with 10 home runs, 38 RBI, 46 runs scored, 10 doubles and three triples through 88 contests. One of Kim, Luis Arraez, Jake Cronenworth or Donovan Solano is likely to lose hold of an everyday role once Xander Bogaerts (shoulder) returns, which could be in about a week if he can get through a rehab assignment without setbacks. • Craig Kimbrel picks up 21st save Wednesday
Craig Kimbrel struck out two batters in a scoreless inning to earn the save against the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Kimbrel was summoned to close out the game with a three-run lead in the ninth. He made quick work of the Mariners, striking out two batters in a perfect inning on 18 pitches. The 36-year-old right-hander picks up his 21st save and 437th of his career, moving him ahead of Francisco Rodríguez for fourth all time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:41 pm
    • Christian Yelich homers in win over Rockies
Christian Yelich went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk to power the Brewers to a 3-0 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Yelich put the Brewers on the board early with a solo homer off Dakota Hudson in the first inning. He added a double in the third, then drew a walk in the fifth. The 32-year-old outfielder is in the middle of his best season since 2019, slashing .333/.408/.519 with nine homers, 37 runs scored, 37 RBI, and 19 steals across 263 plate appearances. • Austin Riley hits key two-run double
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and run scored against the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Riley’s fifth inning double off Jordan Hicks proved to be a decisive blow in this one. All in all, he had three batted balls hit at least 98.5 MPH and has pulled his OPS all the way up to .760 on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 pm

    • Does light running
Harris (hamstring) began running Wednesday, but there's still no timetable for when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Harris suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain June 14 and was able to do some light running for the first time since sustaining the injury. Considering he still has multiple checkpoints to hit before being sent on a rehab assignment, Harris can safely be ruled out until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:01 pm

    • On bench Wednesday
Jimenez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: Jimenez will take a seat for the second time in four games, giving way to Gavin Sheets at DH. Since being brought off the IL on June 23, Jimenez is 8-for-29 (.276) with a pair of doubles. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:58 am
