    • Launches 12th homer
Cruz went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and a strikeout in Sunday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Cruz hit a 452-foot missile off Spencer Schwellenbach in the fifth inning to give the Pirates a lead they wouldn't relinquish. It was the third longest homer of his career, and it had an exit velocity of 117.3 MPH, which is also the third hardest of his career. There have been five home runs with exit velocities of 117 or more this season, and Cruz has two of them. The 25-year-old has three long balls over his last seven games, and he's up to 12 homers, 36 RBI, 6 steals and 36 runs for the season. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

    • Oneil Cruz crushes two-run homer in win over ATL
Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer Sunday in a 4-2 victory for the Pirates over Atlanta.

Advice: Cruz also singled and walked. The 25-year-old absolutely obliterated a 452-foot shot off Spencer Schwellenbach to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead with Jack Suwinski on base at that time. Cruz continues to frustrate in what is essentially his first full season of MLB action, but games like this one remind that there are very few players in the sport who have as much talent. • Guardians reinstate Williams (elbow) off 60-day IL
Guardians reinstated RHP Gavin Williams off the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Williams will make his season debut this week against the White Sox after missing the first three months of the season with his elbow trouble. The 24-year-old right-hander is one of the most talented hurlers on the Cleveland roster, and while there may be some rust to clear even after making rehab starts, he is well worth fantasy consideration — especially against a team like the White Sox. • Returns from 60-day IL
The Guardians reinstated Williams (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cleveland designated right-hander Darren McCaughan for assignment and demoted right-hander Triston McKenzie to Triple-A Columbus to clear spots on the 40-man roster, 26-man active roster and in the rotation for Williams, who is poised to make his 2024 debut for the Guardians during the club's three-game series versus the White Sox this week. Williams had been on the shelf all season after injuring his right elbow during a weighted-ball workout in spring training, but he looks to be stretched out for starting duty after covering five and four innings in the final two of his six rehab outings at Triple-A Columbus. After turning in a 3.29 ERA in 16 starts as a rookie in 2023, Williams makes for an appealing pickup in shallower formats where he might still be kicking around on the waiver wire. • Returning from four-game absence
Candelario (hamstring) will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: After missing out on four straight starts due to hamstring tendinitis, Candelario will draw back into the lineup in a non-defensive role as he makes his fifth start of the season at DH. With Noelvi Marte recently completing his 80-game suspension and likely to see the bulk of the starts at third base moving forward, Candelario could end up picking up most of his playing time at either DH or first base, which should help aid his recovery from the hamstring issue. • Resting against southpaw
Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Lowe will sit for the second time in the series with Washington while the Nationals send another southpaw (Patrick Corbin) to the hill. Jonny DeLuca will pick up the start in right field in Lowe's stead. Rotowire.com Today, 7:32 am

    • Fans nine in win
Lopez (8-6) earned the win over the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings while striking out nine.

Advice: Lopez stumbled a bit over the first three frames, allowing a walk and four hits, including a solo home run off the bat of Mitch Haniger. However, the right-hander recovered nicely after the early hiccups, fanning six of the nine batters he faced over his final three innings of work as Minnesota took a 5-1 lead. Lopez induced 18 swinging strikes on the night and now has 25 strikeouts over his last 14 innings on the mound. He's also won his last three decisions (spanning four starts) and has logged quality starts in back-to-back outings. Rotowire.com Today, 7:21 am
    • Slugs 26th homer in win
Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Giants while also drawing two walks.

Advice: Ohtani took Spencer Howard deep in the top of the third to give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead and later came around to score for a second time in the 11th after drawing a leadoff walk. The slugger is now up to 12 homers in the month of June, with nine of them coming over his last 12 games. Ohtani has also scored two runs in two of his last three games and has drawn at least one walk in eight straight. Rotowire.com Today, 6:28 am

    • Hits another key home run
Happ went 1-for-2 with a walk, a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Brewers.

Advice: Happ broke open a 3-3 tie with his two-run shot in the top of the eighth inning, the outfielder's 11th home run of the season. Two nights earlier, Happ had another big two-run homer, this time to break open a 3-3 tie in the 10th. Overall, the veteran is riding a four-game hitting streak, with the two long balls and five total runs scored during the brief hot stretch, Rotowire.com Today, 5:56 am
