    • Strikes out 10 in win
Pivetta (5-7) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out 10 and earning a win over Seattle.

Advice: Pivetta had it going on Monday, racking up 10 strikeouts for the third time in his last five starts. Pivetta had shown some impressive stuff in the month of July with 44 strikeouts and six walks over 27 innings in five starts. The 31-year-old snapped a streak of six outings without a win, he'll carry a 4.47 ERA into his next start currently scheduled vs the Rangers this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 9:08 pm

    • Picks up 17th steal
Steer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 7-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Steer continues to impress with his wheels as he doubled and stole third, then came around to score on a wild pitch in the third inning. It's the first time this season that Steer steals a base in back-to-back games. The 26-year-old is on pace for a 20-20 season with 15 homers, 64 RBI and a .756 OPS through 104 games. • Launches 17th home run
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Monday's 7-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Candelario took Nate Pearson deep in the eighth inning for one of three Reds homers on Monday. Candelario broke out of a minor slump that saw him go 3-for-36 over his last nine games. The 30-year-old now has 17 home runs this season, one behind Elly De La Cruz for the team lead. Candelario remains a fixture in the Reds lineup, hitting .228/.284/.440 with 50 RBI and four stolen bases through 94 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:27 pm

    • Nick Pivetta strikes out 10 in win over Mariners
Nick Pivetta recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed three runs over 6 2/3 innings on Monday in a win over the Mariners.

Advice: Pivetta rebounded from last week’s epic meltdown against the Rockies at Coors Field by authoring a dominant performance at Fenway Park, limiting Seattle’s lineup to just six hits, including a pair of sixth-inning homers. The 31-year-old righty was staked to a seven-run lead by the fourth inning and was ostensibly able to cruise to his fifth win of the year. He induced 15 swinging strikes and finished with an impressive 34 percent CSW. He’ll bring a respectable 4.47 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 112/22 K/BB ratio across 90 2/3 innings (17 starts) into a road tilt on Sunday against the defending World Series champion Rangers at Globe Life Field. • Slated for simulated game
Kelly (shoulder) will throw a three-inning simulated game Wednesday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a four-inning simulated game the same day and could join the Diamondbacks' rotation next week. Kelly is behind him, but it doesn't appear by much. A return for the right-hander by mid-August looks doable if all goes well. He's been out since late April with a right shoulder strain. • Rangers activate Josh Jung, hold him out of lineup
Rangers activated 3B Josh Jung from the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Jung is back from wrist surgery, but he’s not in the lineup for Monday’s game. The Rangers apparently think he deserves a day off after going 4-for-12 with a double in the minors the last three days. Jung figures to share time with Josh Smith at third and also DH. He should be an everyday guy if his body is up to the task. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

    • Returns from IL
The Rangers reinstated Jung (wrist) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Though Jung isn't in the lineup for Monday's series opener in St. Louis, he finally looks to be back to full health after undergoing right wrist surgery in early April. Jung was pulled off his rehab assignment in late June after experienced renewed soreness in the wrist, but he checked out fine after playing in three games at Double-A Frisco over the weekend while going 4-for-10 with a double and two RBI. Look for Jung to return to Texas' lineup Tuesday and settle back in as the club's everyday third baseman. Rotowire.com Today, 1:51 pm

    • Swipes another bag
Ohtani went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-2 win against the Astros.

Advice: Though Ohtani had a three-game multi-hit streak snapped, he extended his streak of contests with a stolen base to three. The slugger has elevated his acumen on the basepaths to even greater heights this season, as he's already set a career high with 27 steals while getting caught just four times. Of course, Ohtani has excelled in other ways as well, slashing .314/.404/.639 with 32 home runs, 76 RBI and 82 runs in what has been an MVP-caliber campaign so far. • Homers again Sunday
Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Cruz finally got the Pirates on the board with a solo blast to right off Joe Mantiply in the sixth for his second homer in as many games. Sunday was also just the third time this season he's drawn multiple walks in one game. Since coming back from the All-Star break, the 25-year-old is hitting .314/.385/.743 with three homers, nine RBI, eight runs and a 4:10 BB:K in 39 plate appearance over nine games.
