    • Report: White Sox not trading Garrett Crochet
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports the White Sox are not trading left-hander Garrett Crochet.

Advice: Wow. This might be the most significant development of the entire trade deadline as the White Sox were considered extremely likely to move Crochet to a contender at the absolute apex of his long-term value. We’re stunned, but clearly no team was willing to meet their astronomical asking price. It’s a tough break from a fantasy standpoint as his workload figures to be greatly diminished over the final two months of the regular season. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
    • Goes yard Monday
Adames went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-3 win over Atlanta.

Advice: This was Adames' second multi-hit effort over nine games since the All-Star break. He's batting .286 (10-for-35) with two homers and four RBI in that span. The shortstop is up to a .249/.333/.435 slash line with 17 long balls, 71 RBI, 57 runs scored, 12 stolen bases and 24 doubles over 106 contests as an all-around productive batter. • Thumps another homer
Alonso went 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, three runs scored and two RBI in Monday's 15-2 victory over Minnesota.

Advice: The New York slugger went yard for the second straight day and continued his post-break hot streak, as he entered slashing .278/.395/.556 with six extra-base hits over 43 plate appearances since the All-Star Game. Alonso cracked a 409-foot solo homer off Simeon Woods Richardson to open a six-run fourth inning for the Mets. Overall, the first baseman is now hitting .246 with 22 homers, 61 runs scored and 57 RBI on the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:49 pm

    • Willy Adames its three-run homer in win over ATL
Willy Adames hit a three-run homer to help the Brewers to an 8-3 win over Atlanta on Monday.

Advice: Adames turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead with a three-run blast off Jesse Chavez in the sixth inning. The shortstop also singled twice for a three-night night, which is always a good time. Adames hasn’t had a ton of these in 2024, but he has helped in the power category with 17 homers while driving in a strong 71 runs with a .768 OPS. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:45 pm

    • Pete Alonso homers as Mets clobber Twins 15-2
Pete Alonso homered and drove in two runs in a 15-2 crushing of the Twins on Monday

Advice: Alonso tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning with a solo shot of Simeon Woods Richardson. As you can see from the score above, it was all Mets from that point on. It’s the 23rd homer of the year for Alonso, and that dinger along with an RBI double in the seventh give him 57 RBI on the season. The 29-year-old was the subject of trade rumors not all that long ago, but the Mets have put themselves into position to be contenders for the final two-plus months. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • Brewers lose Trevor Megill to lower back strain
Brewers placed RHP Trevor Megill on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 26, with a lower back strain.

Advice: Megill hadn’t pitched since Tuesday, though the Brewers didn’t let it be known that his back was a problem. This could mean Joel Payamps will get save chances when Devin Williams is unavailable. Williams, who just came off the IL on Sunday, isn’t expected to pitch on back-to-back days for a little while. • White Sox GM not ruling out extension for Crochet
White Sox GM Chris Getz said he remains open to signing Garrett Crochet for the long term, though he was disappointed about some of the pitcher’s recent comments.

Advice: Crochet has asked for a contract extension as part of a trade that would send him to a contender with aspirations of pitching in October. “We understand why a stance would be taken, " Getz said. “Now how you go about expressing that is what was a bit hurtful, quite honestly.” It’s very hard to say at this point whether a Crochet trade will get done. If it doesn’t happen now, though, an offseason divorce seems quite possible. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:58 pm
    • Heads to IL with back injury
The Brewers placed Megill on the 15-day injured list Monday with a lower-back injury, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: Megill will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but the team has already deemed it bad enough to require a stint on the IL. Between this injury and Devin Williams' return to the closer role, fantasy managers can no longer rely on Megill as a source of saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:39 pm

    • Drives in three Sunday
Rooker went 2-for-4 with a three-run double and a run in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Advice: Rooker cleared the bases in the third with his two-bagger, plating JJ Bleday, Lawrence Butler and Miguel Andujar to give Oakland a 4-0 lead at the time. Rooker's body of work in July -- perhaps partly fueled by a well-publicized All-Star snub -- has featured one of the best stretches of hitting in the majors this season, as he heads into the final two games of the month having generated a .412 average, 1.329 OPS, 10 home runs and 28 RBI across 22 games. Rooker's .385 average with runners in scoring position during that span has helped push him to a career-high 75 RBI on the season, while his power surge puts him just five homers shy of the career-best 30 he slugged in 2023 over 44 additional games.
